DB2 Connect install problem

Can anyone help me with a DB2 Connect install problem? I had v8.1 installed
on a AIX server successfully a year ago. We decided to re-install it (long
story). We used SMITTY to deinstall all DB2 stuff. We deleted our DB2
directories and we *tried* to stop all DB2 processes. When I do the
install - it seems to work - but I do not get a new SQLLIB dir and I can see
the following error - DBI1122E - instance db2inst1 cannot be updated. So -
it looks like it thinks there is something else running??? Can anyone help?
How do I make sure everything is gone?

I have just installed db2 connect v8.1 (personal edition) on my PC - and reinstalled DB2 Application development client (again v8.1 FP4). When trying to use this to connect via CLI to an AS/400 (which is set up correctly according to the 'DB2 Version 8 Connectivity Cheat sheet' by Raul F Chong) I get an error message from db2licm.exe telling me that 'The procedure entry point sqlofgets could not be located in the dynamic link library...

For tests purpose, I have tried to install DB2 CONNECT V8.1 on a separate partition but on a same Windows 2000 Server as the one on which I had already installed DB2 WSE V8.1 + Fixpack 5 After installation of DB2 Connect, DB2 WSE commands don't work anymore (no response at all !) Desinstallation of DB2 Connect by means of 'WINDOWS Add/Suppress programs' has been done without problem, but trying to uninstall DB2 WSE, I have got a fatal...

We are trying to determine the easiest (and cheapest) way to get connections for about 50 Win2K workstations on our LAN to DB2 on a z/OS server. We could install DB2 Connect Personal Edition on every workstation, but that would require purchasing a license for each workstation (or, more likely, a site license). We would like to avoid that option. I've heard mixed accounts of what DB2 Connect ENTERPRISE Edition can do. One source says...

A tale of woe, and a question . . . Last week my boss said to me "we've installed DB2 Connect on this Solaris box. Make it work." Now, I've barely seen DB2 Connect on Windows, having fumbled thru one install and config, with a lot of handholding from IBM Support. I'm comfortable in unix but have never dealt with DB2 Connect there. (my main job is as an Oracle DBA, and most of my db's are on Solaris or AIX) I've found the install...

I've been running DB2 Connect - PE (v8.x, FP7a) on my XP, sp1 machine. I've been running the trial version (from ftp.software.ibm.com). It timed out last Thursday, which I found out on Friday morning. So I tried to reinstall it. While reinstalling it has worked in the past, it didn't work *this* time. I thought perhaps it was the CD I was using. So I tried another. And had the same result. Then I dug up the "original" IBM CD, instead...

I need to connect to an Oracle database. I've never done it before. I see that with framework 1.1 you had to download ODP.NET from Oracle's site in order for the framework classes to even work. I tried that quickly, but the file is 400 MB, and the the installation asks for all kinds of things in order to install. Now I'm very confused. a) Do you still need ODP.NET with framework 2.0? b) Do you need to download and install other...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
