Errors in Sample program

What is the correct way to notify the tech writers that one of the sample
programs has errors in it?

Unless I am mistaken, there is an error in the DtLob.java program in the
V8.1 Java/JDBC sample programs.

When I copied this program from the manual at the IBM website, I found that
the clobSearchStrin gUse() method didn't behave as the comments described.
Also, the comments were inconsistent. To be specific, one comment says that
the Department info will be deleted while another comment says that it will
be appended to the end of the resume. Maybe I'm nitpicking but deleting
implies that something is gone, not just moved. I think they should be
saying that the Department info will be MOVED from its original location in
the resume to the end of the resume.

In any case, the program doesn't actually do that either; it actually puts
the Department info back where it was originally so that the new resume has
everything in the same order as the old resume. This seems to defeat the
purpose of the example, which seems to be showing that you can move parts of
the resume around.

I don't have a customer number with IBM but I'd like to notify whoever
should be informed about this problem so that it can be addressed in a
future Fixpack. I'd also like to avoid wasting anyone's time if this problem
has already been reported.

How can I determine if this problem has already been reported? If it hasn't
been reported, what is the best way to report it?

Hi Rhino:

If you go to http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...help/index.jsp
there's a link on the bottom of the welcome page called "Feedback" that
you can submit your feedback to via email. It's easy to miss, because
that's the only page that it's on, and it's a bit of a black hole
(there's no guarantee that anyone will respond to your email), but it
will get the feedback to the right place (and believe me, they are
interested in your feedback).
