Compiler Errors When You Use #import with XML in Visual C++ .NET

Hi everyone,
I have the same problem as described under Q316317
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;316317) ie a compiler error saying
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7
\PlatformSDK\In clude\ShObjIdl. h(9528) : error
C2872: 'IXMLDOMDocumen t' : ambiguous symbol
could be 'c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio .NET\Vc7\Platfo rmSDK\Include\M sXml.h(1845) :
IXMLDOMDocument '
or 'c:\MAC\Reader\ src\APP\AppComp onent\Debug\msx ml3.t
lh(2965) : MSXML2::IXMLDOM Document'

but the solution explained on Microsfot website doesn't
work for me, (still suppress some errors, but it doesn't
suppress them all)

Any ideas ?

I'm using VC7, and the program used to be compiled under
VC5 or VC6.
thanks for help,
Luc

Can you post a small sample code that generates the error?
Are you including both MSXML and MSXML2 namespaces like below? Or use
#import with no_namespace?

using namespace MSXML;
using namespace MSXML2;

I hope somewhere here has encountered and solved a similar problem in the past. 1) on a new Win2000 PC: installed Visual C++ 6.0 download & install single file Service Pack 5.0 2) try to build my gui and dll projects, whose project, workspace, source files all resided on network drive mapped to H. The H mapping,

I'm using interfaces in C++ by declaring classes with only pure virtual methods. If then someone wants to implement the interface they needs to inherit from the class. If the implementing class forgets to implement some method I normally get a compile error(if the class is created in some way of course). When using the Visual Studio 6 compiler however, it does not generate a compile error in this case: - I have a implementing class A...

(Was originally, probably wrongly, posted to the vc subgroup.) (This doesn't appear to be a c# problem, but a problem with a bug in the Visual Studio c# compiler, but, any help will be welcome...) Oh, I forgot to list the error messages; I would be delighted if someone could explain how to deduce which line number in which file is the one that the VC compiler cannot handle. Actually I'm using C#, but the only post I could find about...

Firstly, to get msvcrt.lib, install the .NET framework SDK. The version of msvcrt.lib included there is the exact same one as comes with Visual Studio ..NET 2003. There are some other things that might be usefull (e.g. the debug version of msvcrt.lib) but msvcrt.lib is the most usefull thing. Secondly, install the latest version of the Microsoft Platform SDK. The "64-bit" compiler will provide versions of undname.exe, nmake.exe,...

Hi All, In Visual Basic .NET , your function definition might requirre you to return a value but (accidently/intentionally) you dont put any 'return value' in the function. In this case VB Compiler does not generate any warning. Is there any way to make the compiler generate this and other obvious warnings, is there any switch, or still VB.NET development team assumes that

Hi all, I have recently released version 0.0.20 and 0.0.21 of Shed Skin, an optimizing Python-to-C++ compiler. Shed Skin allows for translation of pure (unmodified), implicitly statically typed Python programs into optimized C++, and hence, highly optimized machine language. Besides many bug fixes and optimizations, these releases add the following changes: -support for 'bisect', 'collections.deque' and 'string.maketrans'

Hello to all! For a long time I have been "fighting" a problem compiling an OpenGL program which uses GLUT. First I have put a question in a Watcom group (I want to use this compiler) to which I got no reply, in an OpenGL group somebody recommended me to use Visual C++ which I did. That worked OK but I do would like to use Watcom. In the meantime I found solutions to several of the errors I got but one is left which I cannot find a...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
