accidentally removed db from control center - HELP!

sea
I created 2 remote instances of administration client, then I right
clicked on one of the instance and first dropped it, then removed it.
I thought that only that instance of the admin client would be gone,
but looks like this removed the database itself from the control
center. I have not deleted the sql000 directory, -- is there ANY way I
can get the database back to the control center? Thank you SO... very
much -- I don't have a recent backup and I don't know how to even
start creating the database again from scratch! HELP PLEASE!

re-create the dropped instance and then just catalog the db again...perhaps
aou like to use command line interface for this so you don't have any hassel
with probably unclear control center procedere...

look for "db2 ? catalog node" and "db2 ? catalog db"

good luck

I gather from your post that you accidentaly deleted an instance from
your Control Center, or worse dropped it.
If you dropped it, don't worry the db itself is still there.
You need to remember the drive (on Windows) or the path (on UNIX) where
the db was created.
YOu now have only one instance left so on a command line do:
db2 catalog db <nameofdb> on <drive or path>
db2 terminate
db2 connect to <nameofdb>

Things should work now.

Thank you very much for helping find solutions to my (stupidly
created) problems! I realized that I had actually dropped the database
which meant that all related folders etc were gone. So I had to
recreate the database which I was able to do from an old backup after
long hours of hard work - will be very careful before I use the drop
command the next time!

Hi all, I'm running DB2 8.1.5 on Windows 2000 professional SP4. When I try to start Control Center, I see the splash screen for a while, then it closes and nothing else happens. It happens with "Activity center" (Since I'm running the italian version, I don't know the english name of this tool, I mean db2tc.bat).
