SQL 1042c - unexpected system error occurred with rollforward recovery

Hi,

I'm trying to rollforward my database to end of logs and complete, the
first error message i get is - SQL6063N rollforward recovery on
database X has stopped on node "0" due to change in log file size,
when i re-issue the command I get the " unexpected system error
occured"

I also dropped the db and restored it again, but still getting the
same errors.

Can anyone help?
Thanks
Michelle

Can you restore an offline backup of the database?

Hi Blair,

No I can't restore an offline backup as I don't have any!
Any suggestions? Even how this was caused?

Thanks

Look at sqllib/db2dump/db2diag.log. We had this error, too. It was
caused by an online backup. Since the start of the online backup logging
was not made. I restored from old ixf files. See

During a ROLLFORWARD recovery, are the log datasets copied from the archive log directory to the active log directory? I know the log datasets are copied from archive log directory to active log directory during a ROLLBACK (for example in a crash recovery), but was wondering if it is the same during a ROLLFORWARD recovery too. TIA Raquel.

Hi all, I'm trying to setup a standby server using log shipping. The live database has a user exit in place, which archives the closed logs and ships them to the standby server. The standby server, checks for new logs, and, if any, simply rollforward to the end of logs. Most of the time everything looks fine with the only weird thing...

I am not sure how to deal with the following scenario. Let's suppose: A database SAMPLE is in archive log mode. All log files from S0000000.LOG to S0000010.LOG are stored in one path, S0000008.LOG to S0000010.LOG are active log files currently, the others are archive log files. We have a complete backup image. The database is offline due...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
