Dear all,
I have 2 short questions on resources taken by DB2 on linux, after a
db2start:
1) Why do we have 3 db2ckpw processes started by the db2sysc process, to
check the user authentication, and not only 1 ?
2) Why is there a shared memory (22 Mb) taken by the fenced user, even if I
set FENCED_POOL = 0 in the dbm cfg ?
I would like to know if there is a way to limit these resources.
Regards,
Jean-Marc 3 2246
In v8 fp1 they introduced DB2_FMP_COMM_HE APSZ. (+- 20 mb is the default)
Could this db2set variable relate to your question?

Hi PM,
Thats's it; thanks for your pointing; but I did not find this register in
the FP1 release notes. I think there is a strange behavior: if FENCED_POOL =
0 why allocating this 20 Mb memory ? Besides, I open a new thread for an
instance crash related to this register.
Thanks,
Jean-Marc

PM, I Just forgot to add that looking for "FENCED_POO L" or
"DB2_FMP_COMM_H EAPSZ" is really a miserable task with the DB2 Information
Center. I still keep looking in the PDFs, I have more chance to find related
information quicker.
Cheers,
Jean-Marc

Hello,
I need to set-up & promote a forum whose users would be small to
medium-sized companies needing information, and posting responses
regarding emerging developments in any industry & social trends. Are
'Commission Junction' and 'Google AdSense' good resources for website
revenue generation?
Any recommendations for resources useful in promoting websites & blogs?

Building a large app where we want to be able to ship updated icons like
patches/assign different "skins", etc.
So, I'm looking at storing sets of related icons in assemblies that will be
loaded dynamically.
Some questions:
What's the "best practices" way to load an assembly where its only purpose
is to provide resources?

To All,
I was wondering if it was possible to utilize python to share a memory
resource between a linux and windows system?? It should be stated that
both the Linux (CENTOS 5) and windows are physically located on the same
computer. Is any of this possible?

Diez,
What you have said is extremely concerning.
I am now using VMware. With Linux as the Master and windows as the
guest operating system. I was wondering if you have ever had to develop
a share memory resource between Linux and windows within a Vmware setup?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
