I think Erwin 4.0 with fixpaks that are free, supports DB2 V6. Last
time I checked it would cost me something like 13000 skr (roughly 1300
$) to upgrade to a version that supports V7.

We're using Power Designer - two different versions - 6.5 and 9.5.
Even 9.5 requires certain changes and/or customizations to the
database definitions supplied by the vendor.

Thank everybody for replay

I contacted CA by phone. They told me:
new version of Erwin (AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler Version 4.1.4)
supports version 8

if you have support account ,you can upgrade from Erwin 4 to this
version.

Hi. I'm a new user of Python but I have noted a little problem. Python is a very good language but it is evolving, in particular its library is evolving. This can be a problem when, ad example, a module change its interface or its implementation in a fundamental way (an example: wxPython). This, I think, can be resolved by allowing an user to explicitly say what version of a module it wants (sush as version numbers in Linux shared...

Hi, guys...new guy here. Let me introduce: I'm a technical writer for B&N.com and I've been using ERwin Datamodeler 4, release 4.1.2771 to create data dictionaries. I'm not a DBA, though I'm slowly picking stuff up. I discovered something yesterday that from my perspective is quite serious and I wanted to verify that it is indeed an issue. I have bunches of tables and for some tables, I have

I am trying to use ERWin to reverse-engineer a database running on an AS/400 iSeries database. When the process completes, I end up with an ERD that has 3 or more instances of many of the tables, plus an entity for every file on the box, regardless of the library they reside in. Has anyone else run into this "behavior"? Any ideas on how to make ERWin look only at the library that the database tables reside in?

Hi Listers, I need your advice on how to implement our change management procedures for the databases that we have through CA ERwin. We have 5 environments (Test,Integ,Prep,Educ,Prod) and all objects are updated through CA ERwin. When we initialy decided the process, we used 14 different stages until the object is created in all 5 environments and obtained all

Hey gang, I'm evaluating the CA ERWin product for an upcoming data warehousing project. I'm most excited about the reverse engineering aspect of this system. I've sucessfully tested it on a SQL Server 2000 system, however, when I run it against our iSeries DB2 system (on which our ERP exists), I encounter errors that essentially say that files are missing from our SYSCAT library. I'm not an iSeries expert, but I can say that the

At the bottom of the default Error page that appears when Unhandled Exceptions occur, what exactly is the difference between the "Microsoft ..Net Framework Version" and the "ASP.NET Version"? I understand that the ASP.Net version is the version of ASP.Net that the current site is running under and it can be retreived with System.Environment.Version.ToString. What exactly is the Microsoft .NET Framework Version that is displayed? It is...

What I wanted to do is to have ERwin to reverse engineer an Access db to generate a MS SQL Server 2000 -compatible SQL DDL script. I'll use it to create tables, keys, indexes (and having ERwin to capture Access's TABLE/FIELD DESCRIPTIONS) etc structure on a target SQL Server 2000 db, then using DTS to import data in from the Access DB. (Haven't used ERwin for a while, would not expect it to be able to convert Access queries and VB-driven...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
