Add field always in upper case?

7 New Member
Hello I have a Coldfusion page that goes to a sql 2008 server. I'm trying to make it convert what ever the user enters to all upper case. So far I tried this Values ('#Form.UPPER(A rtist)#', but so far it errors out saying "The UPPER method was not found". How would I go about so it will change anything in the Artist field to upper case?

Thanks

One of my printers in my printer.devicename call returns in lower case. Is it possible for me to change it to upper case? I am also wondering how, in the first place, this particular printer devicename is coded in lower case? Is there a way to change it back using VB6? Thanks

Hi there, I want to capture the last key press in a textBox. So I decided to use KeyDown event and from the KeyEventArgs I read the e.KeyCode But when I type small letter the e.KeyCode always return upper case letter. Is there any configuration so that I can capture the correct letter case? Also in Vb I can change KeyAscii to another value. How can I do that in C#? Regards,

In my web form, I am converting all lower case letters to upper case when the user types the characters in the edit boxes. I am achieving that by injecting client side script (onkeyup event) for each text box. However if the user types the characters so fast it may not work.. Also there are some other loopholes in my code. Is there any approach in ASP.Net to make sure whenever the user types lower case, the data will be converted to upper...

Should HTML 4.01 Strict markup be done in upper case or in lower case? I understand that HTML allows either upper or lower case. I also notice that XHTML apparently requires lower case. However I saw some mention that the HTML DOM uses upper case for markup elements. So, should I worry about what this means? I am inclined to go with lower case, for two reasons. Easier to change if I subsequently want to use XHTML.

OK now I'm having issues when an item is edited. I got the new items to work in upper case. Now I can't get it to covert the edited field to alway be in upper case. Here's the coding: <cfupdate Datasource="#datasource#" tablename="Items" formfields="ItemID,Artist>. I tried both Ucase(Artist) and UPPER(Artist). Ucase has no errors, but doesn't do anything and UPPER errors out. How would I go about adding always upper case to the Artist field? ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
