I have a Diploma in Networking, Technical Support and System support, where do I star

1 New Member
I am currently employed doing a job that limits my growth in experience towards everything I've learned. All I do is give customers advice on which computer to buy, install software and fix some software problems. I do not belong there, I need greener pastures, where do I start ?

What do you want to do? Most likely, you'll look for either a tech support or analyst position at a company that would allow you to grow out of that after you showed you were capable.

I am developing a BBS, I find many bbs system support UBB code, they claim UBB code is safer. But I think I can achieve the same security by filter out all html tags that allowed in the system and output other < and > character as < and >. I could have more control in this way. I am not sure if it is the right way, could anyone with experience on this give your opinion? Thanks!

I'm reviewing some documentation (haven't been able to get my hands on VS 2005 yet) about MSF Agile. This looks like it would help us but I need to know if there is automated testing and if it includes GUI as well as web. I've found a couple of references to WebTests but no detail what-so-ever. In short I'm looking for automated testing of GUI and Web-based content.

Dear, I am going to build a DSS for hospital scheduling. I have some knowledge of standard C++, but I am novice to Windows programming and GUI development. Please tell me: 1- Should I separate backend for schedulign algorithms (prbably will be in C++) and GUI (?). 2- Should I start learning MFC or switch to C# with Window Forms? Which option is more effective in terms of learning curve, development time and future compatibility. 3-Your...

I know the Visual C++ Toolkit 2003 doesn't have normal technical and user support, but I have a peer-support concern. I am encouraging people to use the Toolkit as a simple tool for confirming and community QA on some projects of mine. I also think it is a good choice for people who want to learn C/C++ at the command-line level. What has made it difficult for me to encourage is the fact that the toolkit setup and tutorial seem to...

Hi, We're developing a .NET application in C# and are considering the area of operating system support. What are the guidelines on this for .NET applications? Presume we don't need to support anything pre Windows 2000? Any tips/links would be great. Thanks Kim

Hi We are trying to consume web services provided by an external system. This system uses multipart mime to receive and send binary data. As I've understood it, WSE 3.0 doesn't support that standard, only inline attachmant (MTOM). Does anyone know of how DotNet can get support for multipart mime in soap? Please tell me about available sample code or third party components!

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
