I'm a freshman at college as a computer science major.
I'm not sure it has what I want. Does anyone know if a major commonly
exists in web design (focusing in server side languages)? I want to
program for the internet, but don't know where to get all of my
information from to be the most knowledgeable I can be. Do i find what
i'm looking for in some class somewhere? if so where do i look? or do i
just buy all the asp, php, xml, etc...

How do you get the height of the client browser in IE? Both
document.body.clientHeight and document.body.offsetHeight return the
height of the document. If the page is long and there's a vertical
scrollbar, you get the height of the entire document, screwing up any
chance of centering a window in the browser using these values.
Is there a way to get the height of the actual browser window and not
the entire page height?
Thanks.

I recently started learning c# and I want to ask if this is good investition. Maybe
I should learn c++? It's better to know c++ or c# nowadays. What about the future?
C++ is very popular now, will c# be more popular in futer then c++ or maybe c++ will
be ruling for very long time?

Hello all,
Given my general greenness when it comes to remoting and my
desire to having something relatively stable up and running in the short
term I have been considering the purchase of Genuine Channels.
Would I be making a smart purchase here? What things should I be considering
before purchasing this product and what is the short of buying it, does
anyone know exactly how much easier it will make the process or will it
impede my...

hello all,
i developed several ASP.NET web application with VS2003.
i'm preparing myself to take an exam on the path to MCAD.NET.
then, the VS2005/.NET framework 2.0 (beta) came in to my hand. after i
played around for some time with it, i found that VS2005/.NET 2.0 includes
so many built-in functionalities that we need to built from scratch with
VS2003. for example: user authorization/authentication, datagrid
formatting/sorting/paging...

Sorry this isn't directly concerning a programming language but I
wanted to reach real programmers. I am in college right now and am not
really interested in investing 3 more years of my life for a Bachelors
degree. I know that I can learn more about computer programming if I
spent the time over the next 3 years reading books and programming at
my own pace rather than an instructors pace, as well as not needing to
take so many electives,...

<http://www.utexas.edu/emergency/index.phphas a bunch of meta tags

need to do to make any given webpage Dublin Core "compliant" is to add
the same meta tags to a webpage that the one I've already linked to
does?
Also, what's the point of having a Dublin Core "compliant" webpage? Is
it supposed to be more indexable, or something? If so, it seems like
it'd be ripe for...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
