Hi everyone,
I have a python cgi program that uses print statements to write html.
The program has grown, and for reasons I won't bore you with, I need to
build the page in a string and "print" it at once.
I remember reading somewhere that building the string with successive
"+=" statements is inefficient, but I don't know any alternatives, and
my search attempts came up empty. Is there a better, more efficient way
to do it than this:

In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big
successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big*
successes.
a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc.
b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp.
c. Emacs
The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well
mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

Few more notes on the language. I don't know if I can really suggest
improvements to the language... but I hope to learn something :-)
I think some things are better in Delphi/Pascal (like the := for
assignments instead of = and = for...

Just out of curiosity:
When would using std::list be more efficient / effective than using
other containers such as vector, deque, etc?
As far as I'm aware, list doesn't appear to be specialized for
anything.
Thanks,
Josh McFarlane

We get more and more data done in excel and then they want it imported
into access.
The data is just stupid....values of 1 to 5 we get a lot of 0's ok
that alright but 1-jan ?
we get colums that are formatted for number and then half way down
they are changed to text.
OR the famous ok now everything in red is ---- and everything in blue
is---------. WTF are these people thinking?

Questions:
1. Can there be more than a single script block in a given HEAD tag?
2. Can there be more than a single script block in a given BODY tag?
To test, I tried the following code. None of the script gets executed.
Can someone please give me a direction as to what I may be missing?
Thanks.

I have been looking for a more powerful version of GetType(string) that will
find the Type no matter what, and will work even if only supplied
"{TypeName}", not the full "{TypeName},{AssemblyName}"
As far as I know yet -- hence this question -- there is no 'one solution
fits all', but instead there are several parts that have to be put together
to check.
What I have so far is, and would like as much feedback as possible to ensure
I've...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
