I'd like a code review if anyone has the time. The code implements a basic
skip list library for generic use. I use the following header for debug
macros:
/*
public.h - Public declarations and macros
*/
#ifndef PUBLIC
#define PUBLIC

Arrrh! some buttons work while others don't, but I can't see why. I
have tried comparing the files that do work, with the ones that don't.
But to no help.
The funny thing is the parts that work have the same code, except
different variables.
(Note Javascript and htm code was writen by a c program, the code then
run thru a html to js converter)

Could someone help me figure out how to put my project together. I
can't get my mind wrapped around the creation of the 4 double Linked
Lists. Thank your for your insight.
1. Create 4 double linked lists as follows:
(a) A double linked list called NAMES which will contain all C like
identifiers of less than
256 characters long identified in the input file F. Each identifier

I apologize if this is a trivial question, but it's always made me wonder
when I have to compile my code.
There are some #includes that you don't really need to reference in your
library and header references in the compilation string.
For instance the standard hello.c
#include <stdio.h>
int main()

I am working on a Memory Footprint Reduction project. I came across an
idea to disable all printf statements so that less memory is required.
In addition, when there is no single printf statement, the printf
library will not be linked, so it further reduces the executable size.
Is there an easy way to disable printf in a large project? In my
project, we have thousands of C & C++ files. They don't have a common
included common header. ...

I'm not sure if "data hiding" is the correct term, but I'm trying to
emulate this object-oriented technique. I know C++ probably provides
much more than my example, but I'd just like some feedback to find out
if I've done anything wrong. Also, I am working on this for an
embedded environment, so if there are great inefficiencies with this
code, I'd like to know that also. I realize there is overhead with
using an "accessor" function.

Hi,
I'm working on a (template) library that is up to now entirely
implemented in header-files. This makes the library quite convenient to
use as no extra object code needs to be linked when using the library.
But now, the library needs to run some initialization code at system
startup. Usually, this initialization code would be called from a .cc
file once at system startup, e.g. by assigning the init function to a
global variable:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
