Yes, it is possible to do both.

For graphs: you will have to use a graphing library. I would search through Google for one. You can find several by searching "c++ graph". I personally would recommend Boost's Graph Library, but I haven't actually used it, so make sure to look through them and choose the one you think will be easiest to work with.

As for building a GUI, you need to use the API of the OS you are on.

Are you able to use existing graphcial components that are available through Excel or Visio?? Or do you really want to write the code all over again??

Hi all, The documentation for NGEN states "If Ngen.exe encounters any methods in an assembly that it cannot generate, it excludes them from the native image. When the runtime executes this assembly, it will revert to JIT compilation for the methods that were not included in the native image." I am in a position where I need to determine if this exclusion occurs, but it's not clear to me how to determine this-- can I get NGEN to create...

Hi all, coming from an unmanaged programming background, I took my time to sort out the IDisposable and finalizer patterns. Just when I thought I had it all conceptually neatly arranged, the "Close()" methods reared their ugly (at least it would seem...)heads. I was happily delving away in the .NET framework, investigating the stream classes with the msdn and Lutz Roeder's .NET reflector, when I stumbled upon the following:

I've implemented the USING statement to ensure that my newly created sql connection closes when my method is finished using it. The USING statement is wrapped in try/catch error handling statement. This works fine. When i try to implement the "SqlTransation" class, the code does not work as the SqlTransation object is out-of-scope in the catch statement, and/or, after the USING statement ends, the sql connection object is automatically...

Hi, Lately i've been (and still am) fixing some memory leaks problems in the project i just took over when i got this new job. Among the other issues i've noticed that for localy created objects it makes difference to explicitly put them to null after working with them is done - it somehow makes the GC collect them sooner, like here: void SomeFunc() { MyClass c = new MyClass();

This is a long shot, but I thought I'd try it. I am currently using excel as an inventory tool. I currently have a hand-held scanner plugged into a laptop for reading barcodes. Using the "Find and Replace" fuction, I scan the merchandise which then searches the spreadsheet for the matching inventory number. When it is found, I highlight that cell in yellow. After scanning and coloring all of my inventory I can then see exactly what is...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
