how to specify a difference between 2 values when 1 value is zero

1 New Member
Hi,

I hope you can help with what may seem a simple question - I need to describe the difference between 2 values - 0 and 5 - to show their difference, ie zero enrolments in one year and 5 enrolments in year two .... how can I describe this difference meaningfully?
with kind thanks,
nicholas

I'm not quite following you. Describe the difference:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. int a = 2;
  2. int b = 4;
  3. int diff = b - a;
  4.
???

Hello, hope somebody here can help me... I have a query that lists defects recorded in a user defined date range. That query is then used as the source for a Cross Tab query that cross-tabs count of defect type by calendar month. Defect types are stored in one table, defect transactions in another along with date etc. When I cross-tab the results, defect types that have no defects recorded against them appear as a blank (null) value. That...

I am trying to get my head around the concept of default, special or empty values that appear in Access VBA, depending on data type. The Access Help is not much (help), and the manual that I have is not much help here either. Googling has given me a little help. This is my current understanding -- I would appreciate any comments or corrections... "" -- this means an empty string when applied to String data type, and also to Variant...

Hi, I'm really sorry to post this as I know it must have been asked countless times before, but I can't find an answer anywhere. Does anyone have a snippet of JavaScript code I could borrow which calculated the difference in years and days between two dates, and takes leap years into account? I'm calculating the difference in the usual way, i.e....

Hello, I understand the default-initialization happens if we don't initialize an object explicitly. I think for an object of a class type, the value is determined by the constructor, and for the built-in types, the value is usually garbage. Is this right? However, I'm a bit confused about value-initialization, when does it happen, and what kind of values are assigned to objects?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
