Hi there,
Getting ready for deployment and I would like to be able to run an install
script that will not just generate the schema, but fill in some of the
tables with default data. Is there a tool out there that will scan user
tables in an SQL database and generate the script required in order to
create a database with this default data?
Thanks

Hi,
I used to use string tables in my apps to switch between languages in
VB6. But now I must program in .NET and I don't know how it works at all for
string tables...
Can anyone help me please? Is there something better than string tables?
Thanks

Is an apostrophe a character of special significance to MySQL in a way
that would cause "Bob's dog" to become translated into a 12-character
string when typed into a MySQL memo field? If I type Bob's dog into an
Access memo field, I get a string that is 9-characters long.
When I read "Bob's dog" from a memo field in a MySQL table attacted
to MS Access via MyODBC driver, it displays as "Bob's dog" - a
twelve character string. the '...

Hi, all
When I use ASP to insert an record to a database, I got
some errors and can not insert any value with Chinese Char.
The only way I can do that is use "rst1.Addnew...rst1.update".
Anyone know why?
thx

So I have some data that I want to put into a table. If the
row already exists (as defined by the primary key), I would
like to update the row. Otherwise, I would like to insert
the row.
I've been doing something like
delete from foo where name = 'xx';
insert into foo values('xx',1,2,...);

In Accellerated C++, the author recommends that in a header file one should
not declare
using std::string, using std::vector etc instead one should directly specify
the namespace specifier in code.
for example, this is bad practice:
header.h
#include <string>
using std::string;

Hi,
I've got a table called Aerosol and a table called LinkTabel.
Now I do an update to a table from an excell sheet, this table is called ExportAerosol. So far so good, the import works perfect.
Now when I want to transfer the data from the ExportAerosol table to the Aerosol table I have to make a unique key. I do this by adding a string to another key. Now there is no problem when I update the Aerosol table. It adds the values I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Adolph will...
