How I'm I supposed to use string tables?

Hi,
I used to use string tables in my apps to switch between languages in
VB6. But now I must program in .NET and I don't know how it works at all for
string tables...

Can anyone help me please? Is there something better than string tables?

Thanks

Hi ThunderMusic,

In .NET, we store localized resource including strings into satellite
assemblies, which are basically created from different resx files meant for
different cultures. RESX/resource files replace the string table we used back
in pre-.NET days.

There are a number of content and examples in MSDN on globalization and
localization
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en...isualBasic.asp

ok, it seems very easy, but with these things, is it possible to go from one
language to another within the same session of the application?

let say my OS is english, so the app opens in english, but then, I want the
app to display my things in french, then go to german, then go back to
english... is there a way to do so with localisation settings?

Thanks

I am using Access Database in my program. The column in the table that I am going to use has date/time value with Medium Time selected. (HH:mm). The program is recording a clock in time to this field, which is the time when the entry is made. If you check the database, it shows the correct time in the correct format. But when you are calling it with a dataset and showing with a datagrid, it doesn't show the time value but it always shows...

Hello Everyone, I am new to MS Access and although I have created several different databases I lack the VB knowledge to code a search function. I am turning to your expertise for assistance. I am using MS Access 2003. This is what I am looking for: A text field for the user to enter the search string or keyword.

I've got a number of SNMP devices scattered around the globe that I want to get some information off.. I've got a couple of classes whcih get a quite complex table together from SQL and SNMP devices and return a DataTable Object. but as the devices are all in totally different locations (we have about 20) and the main time lag is due to latency I want to go and get the data simultaniuously from all the resources.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
