Hello,
Sorry for this newbish question.
Briefly, my problem:
------------------
I expect the database I'm working on to reach something in the order of
12-16 Gigabytes, and I am interested in understanding as much as I can about
how I can make this go as fast as possible on a linux system. I haven't run
such a large database before. The nature of the database is such that

Hi all
We all know that C++ is a cleverly conceived multi-paradigm language that
sacrifices very little in efficiency for what it delivers in terms of
type-safety, encapsulation and generic behaviour.
What I want to ask here is - what are the features that people most dislike
about it i.e. that:
- make it more difficult than necessary to implement designs

I need a list of the most common CLR's out on the market today.
I want to distribute my software which is compiled in VS2003 (c# code).
In my setup project I list all the runtimes that I know of which my
application will target.
Since my application is compiled with VS2003 it targets CLR 1.1.4322. I
also want it to target all versions (or a whole bunch anyway) that has
been released before and after 1.1.4322.
My application as of...

I'm a relative newbie to DB2.
I need to move a database from a windows server to a linux server. I
have already identified and resolved an issue with schema names, but I
now have a vexing problem with BLOBs. The table appears to have come
over well (queries show all records match between the two), but the
linux box can't retrieve the data.
I used the db2move DATABASE export/import commands.

Hey everyone, i'm kinda stuck at the moment with this and would appreciate any help.
I have a table in my database logging all the search terms made by users when they my articles right. Each time a search is made it simply uses INSERT and makes a new row containing the search term, date, etc.
However what i am trying to do now i write a script that can tell me what the most common term/terms searched for is, basically sorting through all the...

Hi
I'm using MS Access 2002 / VBA 6.
I've a database with several tables / forms, and some code. Everything is working fine.
I have 2 fields in each table. Each of these fields contain names from employees.
What I need to find among all these 2 fields, is the most common name (the one that appears the most) in both fields together.
Some of the fields may be empty.
I need to perform this with a button, and I would also like that the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
