How to write a unicode string to file

#include <fstream>
#include "stdio.h"

int main()
{
// std::wofstream strm2("test.txt ");
// strm2 << L"ÎÒ°®±±¾©Ì찲à Å";

FILE *hFile = fopen("test.txt ", "wb+");
wchar_t *buffer = L"ÎÒ°®±±¾©Ì찲à Å";
fwrite (buffer , sizeof(buffer[0]) , 7 , hFile );
fclose (hFile);

return 0;
}

The program works. But how could i use wofstream in STL to write a
unicode string to file? The code above which is commented does not
work.

I've been searching for a solution for weeks... why has nobody even asked this question? shouldn't it be a FAQ?

I have a char array and when I write it to a file using BinaryWriter the position of the pointer is the size of the array + 1. For example: writing char leaves the pointer at position 26 after starting at position 0. I thought that char was 2 bytes, but this makes it seem as though it is just 1 when I write to a file. Why is this? I imagine the extra bit is just a null bit (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know if this helps but when I...

I'm trying to upgrade some old code that used old iostreams. At one place in the code, I have a path/filename in a wchar_t string (unicode utf-16). I need to open an ifstream to that file. But the open() on ifstream only takes char * strings (mbcs?). In old iostreams, I could _wopen() the file, get the filedesc, and call attach() on the ifstream.

I need to produce a RTF-document which is filled with data from a database. I've created a RTF-document in WordPad (a template, so to speak) which contains 'placeholders', for example '<dd01>', '<dd02>', etc. I read the entire template into a StringBuilder and then perform a simple 'replace' on it, using a Hashtable. The keys in the Hashtable are strings representing the placeholders and the Hashtable's values contain data

I'm trying to write a little utility that will write some binary data to a file via a javascript and Windows Script Host under Windows XP. The only way to do this that I can find is to convert the binary data to text via String.fromCharCode() function and then write to the file with TextStream.Write(). But that function gives an "invalid parameter" error message when I try to write some ASCII codes to the file. I could understand if...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
