Hello Developpers,
I am developping a TCP/IP Client application using Visual C++ .NET Standard on Windows 2000 Pro.
I noticed that I could not receive more than 2KB once at a time. The server application sends me intensive data. Before this, I receive a feedback command that informs about what kind of prepations I should do next statements....

Hi,
I have an asp.net webapp that uses some javascript in a hidden frame on
the browser to poll the server every 30 seconds, using an http post.
I also want my sessions to timeout in the normal fashion. The way I'm
trying to get around this is by manually setting the timeout property
for the session.
I cache the starting session...

I'm using Forms authentication and a non persistent cookie in my
asp.net application.
How do i get the cookie to time out after a period of inactivity, say
10 minutes, and force the user to login again?
If I close the browser, the next time I use the application, it makes
me log in - and That's fine.
However if I keep the browser session...

Hey There,
I have a situation that is occurring that I need help in
understanding. I have a thread that has a recv function in it, and I
have a child thread of that original thread that processes the data.
The parent thread will execute a bunch of recvs normally, but then will
read less data than is there. For example, if I expect a packet of...

I have a custom VB.net application that runs a query against an SQL
server that takes more than 3 minutes. Right now after 3 minutes it
times out. So far after doing my research I have changed the following:
in web.config:
<system.web>
<httpRuntime executionTimeout="1000" maxRequestLength="2000000"/>
<sessionState
mode="InProc"

Did anyone write a contextmanager implementing a timeout for
python2.5?
I'd love to be able to write something like
with timeout(5.0) as exceeded:
some_long_running_stuff()
if exceeded:
print "Oops - took too long!"

In the doc http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.httpwebrequest.timeout.aspx,
it reads,
"A Domain Name System (DNS) query may take up to 15 seconds to return
or time out. If your request contains a host name that requires
resolution and you set Timeout to a value less than 15 seconds, it may
take 15 seconds or more before a...

Hi,
How can I avoid application timeout? Generally a web application time out is
20 minutes, however, we can define this timeout in web.config to any number
of minutes. After giving 500 minutes of time out which is about little more
than 8 hours, the page expires in less than 2 hours. I am confused here how
to avoid this timeout problem.
I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
