Acquire grayscale USB Video and save as a sequence of 8-bit grayscale bitmaps

Hi,

I have a monochrome camera connected to my computer through the USB
port. I would like to capture the images from it using C++ and save
them as 8-bit grayscale Bitmaps. I am using MS Visual Studio .NET
2005.

Could you please point me in the right direction.

Thanks a ton.
Speed.

You can use DirectX SDK for capture image .

Refer to vendor of your cam. They might have a SDK unless it's webcam, then
use directx.

Question, can I see an event in Javascript that tells me a video starts playing using the <embed src="file.wmv>. I stream the video, but there is a wait time and wanted to pop up a message telling the user it is buffering until the video actually begins to play in the browser. Thanks for any help! JJ

Hi, I need to write a software that allow to see the desktop and hear the microphone capture of a remote PC across a network. I need to do that for a unviresity assignement. The software must run on Windows. Since I like Python very much I am thinking to write that software in Python. Do you thinkit is a good choice? Are there libraries for audio compression (OGG or MP3 or maybe GSM or something like realaudio) and video compression...

There are some Mac tools to convert pretty much any given video source to a Flash video file (.flv) but I'm wondering if there is any way to do it using a Linux platform tying in to a PHP web system? I.e. I'd like to have video files submitted by users which are then auto-converted to .flv files. Anyone have any experience with this? -- Sandman

Does anyone know how to recognise the image capture signal from a medical scope such as a video colonoscope? I've got video streaming from the scope to the computer but want my app to recognise when the scopes image capture button is pressed, rather than have to capture the image by pressing a button in my app. Thanks in advance

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
