I have a process, and my process wants to wait for input but only for
a certain amount of time. The input might be coming from a Python file
object (created with popen) or a TCP socket.
What I want is something like:
s = getTimedInput(source, maxDelay)
where:
source = the source of the input

I have a little code to add multiple items to a shopping cart based
page. This code works perfect, but it adds all of the info to the
same input fields every time it loops. I need it to change the input
names each time it loops. Here is the code.
<% FOR x = 0 TO UBOUND( localCart, 2 )
IF localCart( CARTPID, x ) <> "" THEN
orderTotal = orderTotal + ( localCart( CARTPPRICE, x ) * localCart
( CARTPQUANTITY, x ) )

With the following code I am trying to simply set and display the current date time in an input box. The input box will not accept a variable that contains any spaces (i.e., a space between date and time). It works if I hardcode a date time, but I need the current date time. The code also works as long as it is not within an input box (see 3rd line below)
<tr><td align="right"><strong>Start Time:</strong></td><td align="left"><input...

Hi all,
Hopefully something simple here.
I have written a form that takes data from a text box and updates it into an
Access database. However, I want to also pass the local user date and time
using date() and time() JavaScript commands, but can't find the right syntax
to put them in the input command, example:
<input name=date value="<javascript command here">

Please forgive, I have looked at so much info I can't figure out how to
put it together even though I know it must be fairly simple.
I have an array of input text boxes (txtDOBn) where n is created at
load. On the onchange event I want to calc the age and show in adjacent
input text boxes that are readonly and also arrays (an age calced for
each DOB entered). I was going to use the datediff function in vbscript
to do the calc.
Can...

I'm working on a subform where users put in 24-hour time. On their
paper forms, they've been accustomed to referring to midnight as
24:00 (instead of as 0:00, which kind of makes sense from a human
point of view, though it's still wrong, as it puts midnight as the
end of the previous day instead of the beginning of the next, but it
avoids the zero time problem). I have an input mask to put the : in
the time, but when you input 24:00, it...

Hello all,
As stated in another message, it's been a long time since I've done any
C coding and I'm not feeling comfortable that I'm doing this correctly.
Basically, I'd like to verify that my supplied input is alphanumeric.
White space and opening/closing parenthesis are also permitted.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Additionally, despite having read my documentation for scanf(), I'm
uncertain how --if it's even possible-- to have a...

Is it possible to input values into a web form from an external source
like a client-side javascript?
There is a web site that I'm viewing where I have to enter 5 values in
the form. 4 of the values don't change only one input field does. Is
it possible to create a javascript to run which would popluate the
non-changing values by executing the script or by pressing a button on
the script?
No experience at this so any examples would...

Hi Everyone,
I have a problem with a program I have been assigned thats driving me crazy and I hope someone with a fresh eye could point me in the right direction. Im using Visual Basic Express 2008 on WinXP and the program is a Windows Form application.
The application has to calculate a total order for wire spools and display the shipping status. The form has a text box to accept the total number of spools being ordered (Integer), labels to...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
