Beginner seeking advice.

I wish to become more familiar with using advanced data structures in
c++ (ie. link lists, stacks, binary trees, etc). I don't know where to
begin or where to look for helpful tutorials. Does anyone have any
suggestions?

I don't know if this is the right group for my question, but I'm seeking advice from knowledgable .NET developers. Hopefully I've come to the right place. I work with a document management application which is tightly integrated with the workstation Windows environment. Our software does not necessarily handle any specific document type. User's can import any document type into our repository. On the display side, we use WinAPI to...

Are there better languages than c for a beginner? For instance visual basic or i should just keep the confidence of improving?

I am a recent college graduate and am looking for some advice on how to be a skilled C++ developer. My educational background is from a quite mediocre campus. Can anybody please explain what is expected of a fresh graduate in the industry? I have a Service which runs OK, but I'm abviously not starting it properly. In my OnStart event I commence a long running process which polls a database table and performs various processing. Since this polling loop is entered synchronously from OnStart, basically the OnStart event doesn't terminate for the life of the program. This doesn't give the SCM the correct feedback that the service has started properly. Consequently, the SCM throws...

I was wondering if anyone here might be able to offer me some advice for someone who can only use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. I am (clearly!) a web design novice so apologies in advance if this is a silly question. I have been asked to build a website to specifications provided by a graphic designer at very short notice. The specifications include the visual appearance of the page, set out with pixel widths, locations of graphics, fonts, etc....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
