The latest project in my ongoing quest to evolve my brain from Pascal to C
is a simple word game that involves stringing together random lists of
words. In the Pascal version the whole array was static; if the input
file contained more than entries, tough.
This time I want to do it right - use a dynamic array that increases in
size with each word read from the file. A few test programs that make use
of **List and realloc( List, blah...

Hi,
int *p;
p++; here p now increments itself with the size of integer.
similarly,
I wanted to know, how to declare an pointer to an array ( say array of
integers)
where in it we do a p++ it increments itself with the size of the
array each time it is incremented with 1.

Hi
I am new to C# and am rewritting some C++ code. I want to send a byte array over a serial port. The elements of the byte array are really a structure I have populated. My question is, how do I do this in C# - that is, I want to declare a byte array, assign a structure to it, and then be able to populate the structure's fields, then use the byte array
Thank you
Joe

Hi.
Is it possible in javascript to operate on an array without knowing how mamy
elements it has?
What i want to do is sending an array to a script, and this script should
add all values from that array
Could you show me a little example how to do this?
Thanks.

Hi,
Im new to C++ and trying to self teach myself whilst I sit at my
unentertaining day job (thought i'd put that across before im accused
of cheating on my homework, im 45...)
Anyway I'm trying to dynamically assign a structure whilst I read from
a file, however my program crashes, and im not sure why other than that
its to do with my memory operations using new and delete.

Hello everyone,
As far as I understand, if I request a uint8_t buffer,
it could be allocated anywhere.
uint8_t *buf = new uint8_t
By anywhere, I mean e.g. it could start at an odd address.
Therefore it might be incorrect to access 32 bits at a time:

Hi all,
I have a big C-cod, in which there are lots of dynamic memory allocation used. I want to replace dynamic memroy allocation by static arrays. The following are the problems that i am facing:
1- From structure and dynamic memory allocation point of view, the code is
very complicated. The code has various “nested structures” with a number
of levels. The size of memory allocated for pointer to structure or its
pointer...

Hi all,
I have a doubt.
If I have 2 structures and one is parent of other , ie the child
structure is present in the parent one . And if the child structure is
declared as dynamic array in the parent , will it be possible to pass
the parent structure thru network using sockets onto other application
running on different system provided the API is known to both the
sender and the receiver.

Hi Willy,
Thank you very much for your work.
C++ code doesnot make any serialization.
So at runtime C# code gives an serialization error at
"msg_file_s sa = (msg_file_s) bf.Deserialize(ms);"
I thought that it is very hard to memory map structure array.
I need both read and write memory mapped file at both side of C# and C++.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
