Source Analysis for C/C++

Dear everyone,
Has anyone heard of source analysis for C/C++?
If someone does, please let me know.
Freeware would be the best.
Commercial would be okay too
I've been googling, I've seen only a few and they are used in Linux
Thanks
Jack

PC-Lint comes to mind. And for some reason Parasoft also rings
a bell, but I don't know if they still have something of the kind.

Not targeting to be an 'analysis' tool, but it can extract
all kind of useful information, and it's free:

I'm sure I'm not using the conventional names for this tool, more of a cross-referencer?. I couldn't find it on Google, I think for this reason. I need a tool that will go through a python module (ClientForm in this case) and allow me to specify a starting module to parse and tell me what all it uses. What I'm trying to do is to take ClientForm apart enough to pull out just the html form parsing code in it and use it elsewhere. It...

Now that the '-*- coding: <charset> -*-' feature has arrived, I'd like to see an addition: # -*- str7bit:True -*- After the source file has been converted to Unicode, cause a parse error if a non-u'' string contains a non-7bit source character. It can be used to ensure that the source file doesn't contain national characters that the program will treat as characters in the current

I am looking for some tools to help me understand source code of a program written in C++ by someone else. Are there any non-commercial, open source C or C++ tools to reverse engineer C or C++ programs with source codes on linux? i.e. It parses any sized C or C++ project to help reverse engineer, document, draw UML diagram and understand it and thus maintain it better.

I need source control to serve just one developer: me. Can someone suggest a system that would suit my needs? I am the only person writing code, and I manage the servers. Many of the SC solutions out there seem premised around the needs of a large team and coordinating their work. That's not me. Data points that might help: I'm on MSDN Universal. My environment is VS.NET 2005, multiple Windows 2003 Server boxes with replicated...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
