Hi,
I'm trying to write a Python function that parses
an expression and builds a function tree from it
(recursively).
During parsing, lambda functions for the the terms
and sub-expressions are constructed on the fly.
Now my problem is lazy evaluation. Or at least I
think it is. :-)

Hi all,
I'm having problems with declaring a template friend function. It seems like
I've done everything as explained
in C++ FAQ, but still, I'm getting the linker error (unresolved external
'aFunc(A<char> const&)' ) in
the following sample program. Tried it on GCC and Borland's compiler.
Can somebody please show me the correct way to fix this?
Thanks,
Dmitry

Question: How do friend functions and static member functions differ in
terms of functionality? I mean, neither necessarily needs an object of
the class to be created before they are called and either has access
only to static members of the class (ie. assuming no object of the
class is in scope - neither by arguments recieved nor by local
declarations). Any static member function like this:
//accessing static member i
static void...

Stroustrup, in his book TC++PL 3rd Edition, in page 16, under the
section '1.8 Advice' has mentioned the following:
Don't use global data(use members)
Don't use global functions
Don't use public data members.
Don't use friends, except to avoid or .
Consider the following scenarios:

I'm trying to figure out a workaround to a minor annoyance that I'm
coming up with while coding a site. I've got some keyboard shortcuts
set up for the site via javascript, and when I press escape, it's set
to hide several divs on the page, and remove focus from a link.
Unfortunately, I don't know which link will have focus, so I can't
just blur a particular element (that I'm aware of) since I won't know
which element it is. I got it...

I find friend declaration just very tricky. I tried the following
examples on both MingW(gcc 3.4.2) and VC++ 2005. The results are
surprising.
Example1:
namespace ns1
{
class Test
{
friend void func()

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
