Hi folks, I have a small VB app and I've created a deployment project for it. At the end of installation I would like the user to get a prompt like "Run your new program now? yes/no" -- or text/buttons to that effect. I would then like the program to launch after installation is complete. I have a few questions about this. Any help would be appreciated: 1. In the User Interface Editor, I added a RadioButtons dialog to the End

I am not sure if this was the proper group to post this, but here is my question: I am a Java consultant. I have new client I am working for to make a web based application similar to an ecommerce site. We aren't selling anything but we have a notion of a cart where you add schedule items. You can perform actions such as add/edit/remove schedule items to a schedule. This is an over simplifcation but you get the idea. I am not a...

I'd like to launch an executable file from a web page. Basically, the user enters seven parameters and then clicks a button to generate a graph. The input is written to a file and then read by the exe. The exe then generates a graph based upon the input parameters. I am reading about the Process class and wondering if that is the best approach to this. Can you recommend a KB article?

To simplify the user interface and to protect code I have unchecked the Tools|Options|View|Show Hidden objects. However, if a user selects displaying the hidden objects, I would like to reset this option by code at next database launch to not display the hidden objects. Would it be possible to do this setting by some auto executed (VBA) code at database launch? Best regards Niels

I am having a real problem with the Launch conditions in VS .NET and can only come to the conclusion that it is a bug. It states quite emphatically in the MSDN that Launch Conditions WILL be executed in the order added. This statement holds true if every Condition has a InstallURL value set. but not if there is no InstallURL value. For Example : I want to check that W2K exists on the target machine before installing SP4. So, I add a...

Many technological innovations rely upon User Interface Design to elevate their technical complexity to a usable product. Technology alone may not win user acceptance and subsequent marketability. The User Experience, or how the user experiences the end product, is the key to acceptance. And that is where User Interface Design enters the design process. While product engineers focus on the technology, usability specialists focus on the user...

I can't launch iTunes 7.6 using Windows Vista Ultimate. I was using it and it was working fine until it froze up. I ended the task and now it won't launch at all. Things I have tried: 1. Uninstalling and Reinstalling iTunes. 2. Doing a system restore in Windows Vista. 3. I created another user account on my computer to use iTunes and it works! Which means there is an issue with my user account. Any help?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
