bind2nd

PS
Hi,
I wrote the following code to try using bind2nd.
It compiles and works fine with g++ but a Sun compiler tells me :

"test_bind2nd.c pp", line 21: Error: Cannot cast from
std::binder2nd< std::greater<in t>> to bool(*)(const int&).

Could you tell me if there's something wrong with the code itself?
Thanks,
PS

I don't think there is something wrong with the program. It more
likely something is wrong with the Sun's library implementation.
Seems that the implementation has 'list::remove_i f' a non-template,
but a plain function that expects a pointer to a function.

Upgrade your Sun compiler or use a better Standard Library.

Both gcc 3.3.1 and MSVC 7.1 complain about the second for_each() call in the following code. Why can't I use bind2nd for a functor with a non-const reference as the second parameter? I have to use kludge it by using something like KludgeFunctor(). --------------------------- #include <vector> #include <algorithm> #include <functional>

Why the following code does not compile? If I change the function argument to value (not reference) everything is ok. Is it possible to modify such code that it will compile with reference argument type? Best regards Dominik #include <string> #include <list> #include <algorithm>

I tried to do the following: bind2nd(ptr_fun(&tolower<char>), locale()); But was hit with errors claiming some where deep down the STL library some code is trying to take a reference to a reference type. I guess that is because the std::tolower<>() template takes a reference to a locale as its second parameter then bind2nd tries to take the reference of that parameter. But how to I circumvent this?

Hi, Digging through the STL source code, i found this gem.. template <class _Operation, class _Tp> inline binder2nd<_Operation> bind2nd(const _Operation& __fn, const _Tp& __x) { typedef typename _Operation::second_argument_type _Arg2_type; return binder2nd<_Operation>(__fn, _Arg2_type(__x)); }

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
