Hi all,
During my degree, BEng (Hons) Electronics and Communications Engineering, we
did C programming every year, but I never kept it up, as I had no interest
and didn't see the point. But now I really want to get back into it as I see
a point with GNU/Linux. I want to get my old skills back and write something
or help on some projects...

Hi all,
I am about to distribute an A97-runtime app. which will be used on a LAN by approx. 30 users.
The network is pretty good, but there are a few managers who have wireless laptops...
Of course they also want to access the db.
I am a bit afraid of possible corruption due to the wireless connections.
==> Do I have to be afraid indeed?...

internet. I had used this particular laptop when setting up the wireless
network and other laptops work fine. The laptop in question gets to the
internet fine with a wire. Any ideas what happened and how to fix would be
appreciated. I tried to go back to a restore point...

I'm looking for a C++ library for wireless networking that will work
on such platforms as Windows, Linux, Solaris, Mac OS. Has anyone here got
experience with this? Can you recommend a library please?
(BTW I've been told to stay away from the Microsoft library because it's
very restrictive on what you can do as regards assigning MAC...

How hard is it to write a driver for a wireless network card (Ubuntu
doesn't support my card)?
I have a lot of programming experience but in high-level languages
like Python and just minimal C knowledge.
How big is the project, hard to say perhaps but could anyone guess how
many lines approximately?
Is it technically hard or just a lot...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
