windows cannot configure wireless connection

A laptop we use at home displays this message and won't connect to the
internet. I had used this particular laptop when setting up the wireless
network and other laptops work fine. The laptop in question gets to the
internet fine with a wire. Any ideas what happened and how to fix would be
appreciated. I tried to go back to a restore point but that didn't work.
thanks

Hi there, I've recently developed a VBA-program in Excel that fetches and presents data from a distant Access database over a wireless peer-to-peer network (both computers running Win XP Pro). It has worked relatively well for some time, but recently I'm often encountering errors when trying to fetch the data. I am pretty sure that this is because of a poor wireless connection since I'm also having some problems e.g. copying files...

I have written an ASP.Net application that is to be accessed via a slow wireless network ( < 10kbps ). The web pages do not use viewstate, which keeps my pages around 8K. What I have found when using Windows Integrated Security (WIS) is that it seems to post once, fail, then post again successfully. This kills the performance of the wireless connection. My pages consist of a couple of layers of user controls that contain user controls...

I'm having trouble with PHP & PostgreSQL/OpenLDAP/Apache on Windows. I've set this up countless times on BSD (piece of cake) but I'm trying to do this on Windows now so that my developer can work on her local machine. Everything looks pretty good. OpenLDAP/cygwin works great. PostgreSQL works great. Apache runs. PHP runs. But when I try to connect to my PostgreSQL server using PHPPgAdmin, I

Hi all, I am about to distribute an A97-runtime app. which will be used on a LAN by approx. 30 users. The network is pretty good, but there are a few managers who have wireless laptops... Of course they also want to access the db. I am a bit afraid of possible corruption due to the wireless connections. ==> Do I have to be afraid indeed? If so, what is the best way to deal with this? Should I trace the wireless connections...

Hello, I am working on an Acc2003 app for my company. In the interest of reducing chances of corruption due to unstable network connectivity, I would like to either prevent users from running it through a wireless connection, or limit their use to read-only. I have absolutely no idea if this is possible, and if so, how. Is there any way from within Access to get the list of routers they are connecting through? Ideally, I'd like to keep...

I installed ubuntu a while ago, it looked pretty damn fine, may I add. Anyway, mahooooosive (massive) problem: no internet connection. When I use my Windows, it has a built in wireless connector that it uses to ... you know ... connect. Is there a way of using the same connector in ubuntu? Or, if that is too Windows for Linux, how else can I connect to my wireless?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
