Since I don't seem to be able to reach
Chiron Paixos <CH**********@s pammotel.com>
by email, let me ask what made you think my single post to a single
newsgroup, as a (hopefully) humorous response to the other silly threads,
i.e., "x is better than C", was spam and required reporting? Not that
anybody took the report seriously, I might add.
While we're at it, are there others who are incensed/annoyed/whatever by
my previous post and think it was totally wrong, or not even mildly
humongous?

Try again, got rid of English (International) dictionary: "humorous", not
"humongous"

Humour is in the eye (or, perhaps in this case, the taste-buds) of the
beholder. I didn't think your article was particularly side-splitting, but
I certainly wasn't annoyed by it.
In any event, it was factually incorrect. C is much better than Barbecued
Tri-Tip, even if you're hungry. To remove() your hunger, just rewind() a
little, take your feet off the floor(), and pow()! That chocolate log()
sure puts() the abs() to work. It really is a sin().
Hmmm. This isn't as funny as I'd hoped. I think it's time() for a sharp
exit().

FWIW, I laughed :) You should certainly abort() your current career and

Encoding a standard header sounds a bit ... suspicious. Almost as
suspicious as stripping previous headers, or spoofing the return path. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hello
I would like to call a unix shellscript from within a PHP script and
- write data to its STDIN
- read data from its STDOUT *and* STDERR
- get its exit code afterwards
proc_open seems to be the right thing to use but I have the problem that the called program gives >8kb data on both stdout/stderr back which causes my PHP script to simply hang in the fread call. To be precise the first 4096 "O" characters are read and displayed.

I'm working with a subclassed listview control and I'd like to have the
ability to set the checkbox on a certain item to indeterminate. I've
tried adding three images to the stateimagelist (unchecked, checked,

doesn't seem to do the trick. Actually, whenever I click on the
checkbox it seems to cycle through the images in the stateimagelist.
Also, once this item is set...

I need to make a tri-state check box. (It's values will be off,
checked-always on, or 1-run once)
Would I be correct in assuming the best way to do this is to make some kind
of custom control that displays a "checkbox". The control would have JS in
it to change a graphic image that represents the box. If this is the case,
how would I read in the selected value once the form is posted? I'm
planning on having a couple on the same form...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
