Check http://www.josuttis.com now that you are in Germany. His book is an
indispensable resource for C++ programmers.

You will likely get more, and better, help if you post something on
a Germany specific news group. Or check out your local google,
probably www.google.de.

For C++ starters I suggest Koenig and Moo _Accelerated C++_ as
the first book. And you should pick up a copy of _The C++ Prog.
Language_ by Bjarne Stroustrup. Get the latest version.

You probably want to take a C++ course *and* an object oriented
design course. Each topic is big enough, and has enough material
that does not fit well in a course on the other, that you would
benefit from two courses. For example, C++ has many features that
don't fit well under OO notions. Though you can do a reasonable
job designing OO to be implemented in C++.

For the most part I understand the VB "Language". I also understand C, C++, JAVA, JavaScript, etc, etc. What always holds me back is that I don't know what to do with them. I mean, I have good ideas for things to make, but I can't seem to organize my work and decide which part should do what and whether this should be in a loop inside the main program or in a separate function or if I should do that part before this part or not. The...

Hello, I am a seasoned Classic ASP programmer who is interested in learning ASP.NET. I bought a book (Que's Special Edition Using ASP.NET) which is complete rubbish, and would like a recommendation of something better. I have a very basic idea of how ASP.NET works having spent a couple of days playing with it, but it's still a large amount of fog with only a little clarity. I would like something that explains what's going on

I know there are ways to make this a lot faster. Any newsreader does this in seconds. I don't know how they do it and I am very new to c#. If anyone knows a faster way please let me know. All I am doing is quering the db for all the headers for a certain group and then going through them to find all the parts of each post. I only want ones that are complete. Meaning all segments for that one file posted are there. using System;

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
