Well, you can ftp Turbo C++ version 1.01 from:

<http://community.borla nd.com/museum>

but the subject is off-topic to comp.lang.c!

As far as I know, no. It is kinda way behind the curve on the C++
standard tho. If you don't need 16 bit support or DOS/DPMI 32 bit
support, you can download 5.5 from their site, which is pretty recent.
If you do need DOS/DPMI for some reason (this being the last version
that supported it) you may also need another package that installs some
glue files. If you need 16 bit support see their museum, you can get
very old compilers but they are pretty far away from the standard in
terms of functionality.

Is this a command line compiler only?

You can get CBX personal edition for free which uses the 5.5 compiler
(or supposedly any other compiler that you want) It doesn't do 16 bit
but some guys at the borland newsgroups are trying to get it to work
with bcc. You should post at their groups newsgroups.borl and.com

I am seeking some kind of tool that I can use for GUI prototyping. I know how to use Visual Basic, but since a lot of software is being coded in Java or C++, I'd like to learn a Java or C++ -based tool. Back when I took my Java and C++ classes (two or three years ago), the available tools -- at least the ones I could find -- were still not as easy, not as "drag-and-drop", as Visual Basic. Has that changed? Is there some software out...

Hi At my college some IT students were giving away free older computer books. I got a book called Borland C++ a programmers guide. So I was really just wondering what this Borland C++ is? I know C++ is a programming language, but Borland? And is this book, thats from 1992 still valid, or is it outdated? I hope someone can answer me, or point me to the right place.

Have you seen any NNTP classes that I may use or build upon to build a simple newsreader/downloader? Is there such a class in the .Net framework that I have overlooked? If not, inclusion of RFC documented protocols would certainly be a good idea for a class hierarchy in the .Net classes. You could adopt and extend the classes at will. Who knows......maybe even improve one and get a new RFC implemented.

Hi, I have just inherited some embedded software that was compiled with Borland 4.52. I need to either purchase that compiler, which Borland no longer appear to sell or alternatively source an upgrade/compatible compiler. Do Borland sell a newer version of the 4.52 compiler that will still allow me to compile a DOS executable? Regards, Darren

Am wondering whether Borland C++ 4.5 or Borland Turbo C++ 1.01 supported C++ templates. If not, which other future version of BC++ or TC++ did? If BC++ 4.5 or TC++ 1.01 does support it, how much of the C++ language does it support.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
