INCITS/ISO/IEC 14882:2003 vs INCITS/ISO/IEC 14882:1998

Hello everybody!
I was looking for PDf version of ISO C++ standard on several websites and I found
few documents. one here: http://www.techstreet.com/cgi-bin/de...oduct_id=49964
and it is named "INCITS-Adopted ISO/IEC Standard" and it tells me that this
version of standard was replaced by another review from year 2003.

I have my copy I purchased from same website many years ago and it says
ISO/IEC 14882-1998(E). Version from 2003 is different, in fact it is
786 pages instead of 732 pages for 1998 year version.

Does anyone now what is new in ISO C++ since 1998 ? Just curios if it is worth
to bye yr 2003 version to find out what new in those 54 pages ?

Just wondering if hash_map<> finally made it to standard ?

Cheers,

Do you steal other things you can't afford, too?

Yes.
Why? Are _you_ too proud to? I've had numerous versions of Visual
Studio, none of them paid for.

A cow with a stick, a horse with kindness
If you want a cow to do something for you, then use a stick. If you want a
horse to do something for you, then use kindness. Switch them around - now
the cow ignores you, meanwhile the horse has a "fight or flight" response,
which 99 times out of 100 will result in you getting an almighty kick.

Moral of the story: Think twice before you adopt the attitude of treating
others how you would like to be treated, it may differ from how _they_ would

Long story short: if I can't afford food, I will not hesitate to rob it. Or

The ridiculous prices of education, and even software development packages,
just adds to the poverty trap. If you're born into poverty and you want out,
maybe education will work for you. But what if you can't afford it?
The C++ Standard is not a luxury, it is a basic supplement. I will not pay
for it.

After having fancied myself a C++ programmer for the last nine years I figured it was about time that I actually obtain a copy of the standard rather than relying on other sources that claim to accurately represent the standard. Even the best intentioned author or newsgroup poster is capable of inaccurately representing the standard. I followed the FAQ link to http://www.techstreet.com/ and searched for 14882 as suggested. That...

I've been looking on the web to see if I could find a link that would describe the difference between the 14882:1998 and the 14882:2003 C++ standard. I found the following link: http://www.acceleratedcpp.com/authors/koenig/c++std/revisions.pdf But the above document is over 300 pages long, and it's not practical for actually trying to determine what difference has been made that would actually effect the langauge.

Hello, When an "std::map<int, int> foobar;" statement appears in a C++ program followed by a statement of the form "foobar;" where nothing has ever been inserted at position 123 into map foobar, the C++ standard states that a new element is created at position 123 and is initialized to zero. That is, in this case, the pair (123, 0) is inserted into the map. I am interested in knowing what the standard says should happen in the

I've been checking out ANSI's webstore with the intention of getting a copy of the C++ standard, and astonishingly it seems to be dated 2003! Bjarne Stroustrup's site states that C++0x is still a long way from completion, and nowhere else on the web seems to refer to the 1998 standard being replaced with a 2003 standard, so what's going on?

I wanted to take a look at the actual C Programming Language specification which provides the libraries used by C++ in the <c*> Headers. A couple days ago, I found it freely available on the internet. I originally assumed it was an older, or draft version. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
