Has anyone heard of Monocross.NET

1 New Member
I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with Monocross.net? It is an interesting open source cross-platform mobile framework using C# .NET and the Mono framework (according to the homepage).

Looks like you can build apps for iPad, iPhone, Android, WP7, and Webkit phones.

I know about Xamarin. They have different tools to do Iphone and android development using Mono, like MonoTouch and Mono for Android, and others, but these are not free.

Hi chaps, Does anyone know if the beast is going to release Visual Tools for office to work with Visual Studio 2002 and not just 2003, or are they quite happy to shaft those that supported them when their product just cam out. I can't see why the tools shouldnt work with 2002 seeing as its almost identical to 2003. Has anyone heard anything

Hi everyone, Just out of curiosity I recently pointed one of my hand-typed pages at the W3 Validator, and my hand-typed code was just ripped to shreds. Then I pointed some major sites (microsoft.com, cnn.com, etc.) at the W3 Validator; to my surprise none of them passed. Doesn't anyone care anymore, or are the standards more-or-less looked at as guidlines for web design?

Hi Just curious if anyone ever heard of NetQuarry. They sell a "enterprise application platform" for .NET. My company is considering buying it and I wanted to know if anybody had any experience with it. Thanks Sergey

here's a link: http://thinstall.com/ I want something that allows me to run my .net based apps on locked down pc's at work where we can't install the .net framework. This sounds like it would work, but at one heck of a price. Has anyone seen any similar applications? preferrably for less, a LOT loss

Hello, According to MS's web site, VS 2005 will be coming out "in the first half of 2005", which isn't very helpful. That could be anytime between tomorrow and the end of June. I am interested in getting VS, but I don't see the point of buying VS 2003 (which isn't cheap), only to have it outdated in a few months. On the other hand, I would really like to get going with VS as writing ASP.NET pages by hand is time consuming ;-)

Hello, I was reading an MSDN article on validation, and it mentioned the validatorhookupcontrol client side API as enabling you to hook up more than one control to a validator. I just checked the SDK, and couldn't find such an API. I then searched MSDN and MSDN2 and only found one reference to it, from the article I had just read.

An friend insider told me that VB is to be killled off within 18 months. I guess this makes sence now that C# is here. I believe it and am actualy surprised they ever even included it in VS 2003 in the first place. Anyone else heard about this development? The Master

I heard there is some trick to referencing statics in C# CLR stored procedure without having to mark the assembly as unsafe. Does anyone know this? This is usefull as the case of needing a little static shared variable here and there without having to compromise safety in the Sql Server 2005.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
