Hi,

Will you tell us what you mean with the VB.Net CLR stored procedure. I know
about SQL stored procedures, it seems something were you are talking about,
however I don't see any relation.

He means a stored procedure written in managed code, I believe. And, as far
as I know, static variables do work - I'm pretty sure that I had a problem
with one that I worked on because the previous dev had made some of the
variables static. I'm not sure the OP is asking what he thinks he's asking.

Please don't type the entire message in the subject line as well. I've
seen several postings of you now and all have the complete message
inserted in the subject line.

Since it says in the standard that the order of initialization of variables is indeterminate, does this also apply to a static within a function? e.g. int GetInt() { static int test = 458; return test;

I've spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out how to debug a Java stored procedure and am just going in circles. The last straw came when I got "Cannot open input stream for default" when I launched the IBM Distributed Debugger via D:\IBMDebug>idebug.exe -qdaemon -quiport=8000,8001 First, a bit of background. I am running DB2 V7.2 with Fixpack 9 applied on Windows XP Professional (all critical service applied). I've written...

Hello people, Thanks to Serge, PM, Knut and a host of others I have now successfully completed my very first SQL Stored Procedure. Takes some 13mins or so to run, but that was expected as it does a fairly significant number of small single select and inserts from various cursors. I am very pleased with the results and can find no errors after a few days debugging a couple of never ending loops. Interestingly though, while processing...

Hi, I have a stored procedure that I want to execute and then wait in a loop showing a timer whilst it completes and then carry on once I get notification that it has completed. The main reason for this being to stop the user thinking the application has frozen when in fact it is just waiting for a long SP to complete. Another reason for doing it like this is that I also have had a problem in the past where the SP takes longer than the...

I am trying to get a SQL stored procedure to use user maintained MQT implicitly which raises questions on when they are used or not used. In theory you would expect the stored procedure to pick up the MQT at the time it is bound on the creation of the static SQL. This raises the question on how you stop it or start it using a MQT as there is no option on the bind. What happens when it is rebound? What happens if the plan is made invalid...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
