I have a table of zip codes, some with Canadian zips. I'd like to take
a zip code and search for nearby zips. For example:
Dim theZip As Integer = textbox1.text
....Parameter.Add(@ziplow, SqlDbType.Int, 5).Value = (theZip - 10)
....Parameter.Add(@ziphigh, SqlDbType.Int, 5).Value = (theZip + 10)
SELECT * from ZIPCODES where Cast(zip_code as Integer) BETWEEN @lowzip
AND @highzip

Fellow JavaScripters,
I am looking for code or implementation ideas for converting an integer
variable to a four-byte array. I'm porting some of my code from C#,
where I make use of their BitConverter utility class, but am still
feeling my way around a bit here with JavaScript.
The idea is that each of the four bytes that comprise an integer (I
presume numeric types in JavaScript are/can be made four bytes?) are
extracted, and then...

HI,
I face the task of converting a 6 byte integer (MSB first) to a
decimal string.
The platform I use supports only 4 byte basic data type. I have
written some algorithms that loops to many times :-(. It would be
great help if any of you can share a high performance algorithm to do
this.
Thanks
Sudi

Hello,
Suppose I have the following C# code which I want to convert to VB:
for (int i = 0; i < nFieldLength; i++)
Console.Write((char) sValue);
sValue is a byte array.
The problem is the typecast which I can't find an equivalent for in VB. I

Is there no C library function that will take an int and convert it to its
ascii representation? The example Bjarne shows in his faq is not extremely
convenient.

Hi,
String formatting can be used to converting an integer to its octal or
hexadecimal form:
'307'
'c7'
But, can string formatting be used to convert an integer to its binary
form ?

Hi all,
I'm looking for the fastest way to convert an array of bytes to String. I
also need to convert a String back to its original Byte() representation.
Convert.ToBase64String and Convert.FromBase64String seem like the closest
thing I can find to what I'm looking for baked into the base class library.
Can anyone suggest a better way to do this?
TIA - Bob

Hi,
I have a C++ CLR class method that takes System::Byte *b as parameter argument. I want the CSharp caller pass a byte * to this function.
But in the CSharp prorgram, I only managed to create a byte array (byte).
Can anyone tell me how to convert byte array to byte pointer in CSharp?
Please show me an simple example about how to do it.
Thank you for your help

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
