Can you please post some sample code? I just did a test myself and everything is working fine so I'm obviously not doing the same thing you are.

The key here is to be detailed. We can't help you unless we know what's going on.

How do I prevent a tree control from scrolling when an item is selected? I have tried handling the WM_VSCROLL message but that only works when the scroll occurs from the scroll bar. When the tree decides on its own to scroll the scroll message is not sent. How do I block this behavior?

I have a vb.net program that calls an msi to uninstall a control panel (*.cpi, *.cpl and *.exe). However, after uninstall the icon persists in the control panel window until a refresh (F5) is initiated. Is there a way to refresh, or at lease close, the window from my vb.net code? Thanks in advance! jseelig@compasslearning.com

using VS2005 and c# to create a windows forms application. One of my forms has a panel which I've added various controls to. Now, I've set the autoscroll property to true, which is great, but I can't use my mousewheel to scroll up or down and its annoying the hell out me. How do I get a panel to scroll on mousewheel scroll event? Hope someone can help.

Hey There, I've been trying to see if there is a way to programmatically block, or hide, the Control Panel. Since it is a "Virtual Folder", just blocking an .exe from running doesn't work. Even some of the applet items in the Control Panel are problematic. The "Fonts" link or the "Network Connections" link are both "Virtual Folders", so when I block ..cpl files doesn't affect them. Anybody out there have any suggestions? Thanks! Jay

A while ago I installed Net 2.0 to our Server 2003 web machine, but the Control Panel folder icon for configuring Net 2.0 never made it to the Control Panel folder. Thinking this might indicate a botched install, I used the install.exe found in 2.0's "Microsoft .net framework 2.0" directory to repair the install. No change I can see. I can find the application exe whose icon is missing from control panel easily enough, but I wonder...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
