Hi all,
I try to download a mdb file. If I simply display a link to the file,
the right-click/Save Target As doesn't work.
I couild rename the mdb file into a zip file, I think the download would
work, but the user would have to rename the zip file into a mdb file,
and I try to avoid this.

We are using an Access 2000 application on a Windows NT / Citix server. The
app is split into a front end and back end mdb, and each user has the front
end mdb in their own folder.
Since we have put the front end mdb into each user's folder, I've noticed
the appearance in some of them of db1.mdb, db2.mdb etc.
It seems like these files are created when the users start their
applications, then closed and deleted when they exit the app. ...

This is probably soooo simple but I can't seem to get it.
I have a text file that I want users to download via a web page.
I want the file to be saved to a default folder (or one that they choose)
on the users / client file system.
I have toyed with a Self-Extracting zip file but the contents of my zip file
changes each time it is downloaded so that invalidates the exe file. Also
the text file is so small it is a waste to zip it.

I need some help from the gurus out there.
I have a .mdb file on the server. I have a button on the server that when I
user clicks it, I would like it to open up that .mdb file in MS Access.

I will ask the question first then fumble thru trying to explain myself so i
dont waste too much of your time.
Question / Statement - Every mdb table needs a PrimaryKey ( or maybe an
index - i havnt tested the index yet ) so you
can use an .UPDATE( dataTable ) on the data adapter. Otherwise you will
get an exception error.
Is this statement true?

I have had success writing to a .mdb database file stored on the server.
However, I would like each user to have their own database, which could be copied from a template on the server to their local machine on their first visit to the site. (I'll save my permission questions about allowing the download of a .mdb file for later.)
Once that is done I'd like the ability to write to and read from that local copy of the .mdb from the web...

I know this might be a silly question to ask but i was just wondering,
is there a way to save a specific MDB file , which is accessed from the server,
in to the local machine in a specific folder.
It will be good if there is a way so that the user can create a backup of the database they use into the local machine before they close.
is there any way or any other similar operation that could do this task???!!!!

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
