Modify .mdb file on Users Local Machine from Web Page?

I have had success writing to a .mdb database file stored on the server.

However, I would like each user to have their own database, which could be copied from a template on the server to their local machine on their first visit to the site. (I'll save my permission questions about allowing the download of a .mdb file for later.)

Once that is done I'd like the ability to write to and read from that local copy of the .mdb from the web site on all subsequent visits.

Is this possible? (or is it disalllowed for security reasons?)

I was hoping that the user could just browse to the .mdb on their machine each time they visit the web page.

btw I'm using,

Actually, I'm not absolutely certain it's a session problem but I'm hoping the experts can help me figure that out. Our application uses a session variable to "pass" info from one form to the next. It has always worked fine for our users until a few weeks ago when one of our users started having a...

I have a web app that needs to parse through a file that is located on the client machine. I get the file string from a query string & then parse it. It is working fine on my development box but when I put it out on the test server the application is looking for the file on the server & not on the client machine. I am essentially taking the query string & using a stream reader to read the file. I'm sure i'm doing something...

Hello, I have a requirement wherein, a user clicks on a file name in an ASP.NET web application, and the file should automatically be downloaded (Without showing the "Open", "Save As") in the local machine at a pre defined path (path defined in the registry), and launch the file in its associated application. I think this can be done through ActiveX Controls, but i dont know how to create ActiveX controls in .NET??

Hello! I'm trying to copy a file from another computer on the network that I do not have permission with my current logon details to access. If I open the folder using the Windows file manager with the path "\\ 192.168.2.2\temp" (where temp is a shared directory on server \\192.168.2.2), windows prompts for a User Name and password of a user who has permission on that computer to access that directory. If I enter valid details, the...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
