I want to build a C# 2008 project step by step approach to learn it rather
than reading a reference book.
Any recommendations ?

MSDN actually has a broad variety of guides and sample code. Here are a
couple of pages you might find useful:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb383962.aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms229601.aspx

If anything, MSDN's content is so broad that it can sometimes be hard to
figure out exactly what sample to start with. But hopefully the above
provides you some good starting points. If you actually had something
more specific in mind, you should be clearer in your post about what it is
exactly you're looking for.

I was just like you. When I learned (I am still learning) C# I started a
project. My advice is to think of a project you would like to do and can be
"commercialized " in the future. I do not want to work on a project which I
have no use for. Then look for a similar project as a starting guide. Once
you have started your project you will have opened a pandora's box. The
problems are not unsolvable. Answers can be found via this NG and other
forums. Do not hesitate to ask questions however "dumb" they may appear. You
may have to read books to find the answer. Sometimes I go to my favorite
library - Borders :) . I also put the question in a Google search box and
you will be surprised how much information you can find out there. Lastly,
be patient and focused.

Have fun with C# !

I have read many of the topics on learning C++ or Java first. It seems like everyone says something different. I would like to know if I should learn C++ or Java. First a little about myself. I know PHP, BASIC, and of course HTML. I'll be 15 years old in September. I am interested in programming GUI applications. I am also interested in programming games. I know that I should learn C++ to program games, but would learning Java make the...

Hello group, After quite a long time of consideration, I'v finally decided to switch from Java to C. Given the condition that almost without any knowledge on C and 3 years expereince on java, , Which tutorial or book might be good for me to start with? It would be the best if it's (freely) available on the net. I'd prefer standard C, anyway some Gnu extensions are just fine. I'd appreciate any of your recommendation of book/tutorials or...

I'd like to learn JavaScript while sitting in my easy chair with my laptop on my lap. Option 1: Buy a wireless router so I can access the plethora of online- only tutorials from anywhere in the house. Option 2: Buy a book and try to figure out how to read a book with one hand while using the laptop with the other. Option 3: Find a good downloadable tutorial (either PDF or a bundle of

I did a fair bit of VB programming many years ago (>10) and have just downloaded the free VB Express 2008. What I need is a good tutorial (preferably in pdf format) or a good book that covers VB Express 2008 in some depth but not aimed at the absolute beginner. Most of the tutorials and books I have been able to find so far are too superficial. Recommendations?? Cheers

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
