I have to setup a point-of-sale system for a friend. He has a PC, barcode
scanner, receipt printer and cashdrawer.
The receipt printer connects to the serial port.
The cashdrawer connects to the printer.
The barcode scanner has a keyboard wedge.
Do I need to setup the receipt printer as a windows printer ?
OR can I send output directly to the serial port using ASP ?

Hi,
Has anybody here tried to hook up a serial printer (receipt printer like
those used in shops) to access? can ti be done though windows using reports
in access to generate a receipt then print? What I was wondering is how long
it would take for the data to be sent to the serial printer?

Hi,
I'm supposed to come up with receipt printing program similar tothose receipt printing you typically see in a supermarket. Whena new item is added, one more line is added to the printoutuntil the transaction is complete. Apparently, it is a rollingpaper too (the page height can't be determined). Does anyonehave a similiar solution or direct me some resources that I canstudy, please!! Thanks!
Jimmy

I have made an app with vb.net 2002 and compiled it in
the XP environment. It works great in this environment
but when I install it to a computer running win98, I
cannot communicate with the printer. I know the printer
is communicating with the OS because I can print text
with notepad. Does this application need to be compiled
under the win98 evironment? Or is there a fix for this
type of problem?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi People,
I am facing an issue with printing where I have to print receipts of a
custom size. Each receipt is about 8 inch by 4inch. I am using
window.print(). When a receipt is printed another 3 receipts are
flushed out of the printer. I want only the printed receipt out of the
printer. Am using a dot-matrix printer and the receipts are in a
continuation (i.e around 1000 receipts attached to one another).
I want to print only one...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
