DataGridView Column Width

Hi,

I need to make the last column of my datagridview wide enough to contain a
long string, and I can use the horizontal scrollbar to see all of the data.

How can I do this? Currently the scrollbar does not show up. I wish that I
can make the column fit the data automatically.

Thanks.

On a column-by-column basis you can set the auto-size mode - for example:

{blah}.AutoSize Mode = DataGridViewAut oSizeColumnMode .AllCells;

Dear All, I am having a few issues with DataGridViews. Here is what I have. In a windows form I have added a DataGridView. My data is stored in an array of instances of a class with several properties. Then I simply set the data source property of the DataGridView to that array. The data is displayed but there are a few issues: 1) The container is not the same size as the actual area occupied by the data that is visualized. For...

Thinking two things, 1- Creating a userControl -yeah you guessed it, a multi column drop down combobox - I've looked at several articles and did not find what I need, one that's bindable and that I can use in a datagrid view. 2- Extending the datagridview so that it can be added to the list in the column types when editing columns in the datagridview. I'm really getting PO'd at Microsoft for not including a multi column combobox both a...

Hi I've been looking through the properties and I can't seem to find a way to adjust the column width. Is there a way to do this? Also, when the datagridview is displaying data, there is a "column" on the far left used to select records. Is there any way to remove this column? Or change it's width to something smaller (like zero)? I appreciate your help very much.

Hello, Some database applicatins have a tooltip feature where when you are dragging the scrollbar of the table view a tooltip appears next to the mouse cursor displaying the approximate record number you are scrolling past (Excel, Access). Sql server has the rownumbers on the Row Header column of its table view. Ideally, I would like to add row numbers to the Row Header column of the datagridview like sql server - Any suggestions...

How can i tell if a row in my DataGridView has been edited? I'm loading a DataTable with ID3 information from MP3 files and using that as the datasource for the DataGridView. I'm letting the user edit the information in the grid and when the user has finished, he clicks the "Update" button. Then I update the ID3 information in each MP3 file with the data from the grid. However, if the grid has hundreds of files in it, this can take a...

Hi All :) I'm converting VB6 using True DBGrid Pro 8.0 to VB2005 using DataGridView. True DBGrid has a MultipleLines property that controls whether individual records span multiple lines. Is there an equivalent property for the DataGridView? I have searched, but have not found one. I would like the user to be able to see all the columns of the table on one screen - thus eliminating the need to use the horizontal scroll bar to view...

I am wondering what is considered a best practice for setting column widths to fit the data for a DataGridView (.Net 2.0) that was created on-the-fly from an arbitrary query. What I would probably do is scan the width of each column for the first couple hundred or so rows and find the largest. (But how does one convert character counts to field widths in pixels?) More generally, however, is there a better approach to accomplish this?

I have a datagridview with a button column as one of its column collection. The width of the button column is say 50 but the problem is the button editing control within the cell of that column is also having the same width as its parent column which looks awkward. I want to set the width of the button editing control small enough say 20 irrespective of its parent column width. Please help. Thanks.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
