OK. I am halfway decent with HTML. Now I want to try javascript for some
things that HTML cannot do. I have looked over a tutorial & all.
What I want to do is create a button, that when pressed, closes the window
it is in, and launches a URL. The window the button is in is actually just
a sub-page of the main website page, launched with target="blank", but I
just do not want to close the window as I said, I want to launch a website...

I'm aware of how to access the document model in Javascript in order to
do things like change the values in the fields forms. However, I'd like
to pop up a helper window seperate from the page containing the form,
and when the user makes a selection and hits an 'ok' button in the
pop-up, I'd like their selectiont to be inserted into a field on a form
in the main window. Is this possible?

Hi to all,
is there a way to get the window handle of the main window of an application
or process ?
For example, if someone opens Microsoft Word, he gets a window so he/she can
write text.
Spy++ gives that this window is called _Wwg.
How we can get a handle to this window assuming that we do not know
beforehand the name of the process,

I'd like windows spawned off my by main window to always stay above that main
window, even when you give focus to it... how would I do this? The only
property I find is one which makes that window stay on top of EVERYTHING,
including outside apps... I just want the windows to stay on top of my main
window so that when the user focuses on the main window, the sub windows
don't get lost (I don't put them in taskbar)

Hi all,
how can I set an app's main window to visible from an other application?
My problem is, that I know only the handle of the other app's main
process, because the application's main window is set to hidden, so it
doesn't have a mainwindowHandle, so I can't send a message to it.
Any idea?

I have an MDI child window that pops open it's own tool windows. I would
like for the tool window to stay on top of that MDI child so that if
they open the MDI child back up they *have* to dismiss the tool window
to continue working.. I don't want this tool window to stay on top of
others, though, as it will have nothing to do with other parts of the
program.. Can I make the tool window a child of the MDI child window

desired behavior.
On this form I also have two buttons. I want those buttons to open up a new
window with information taken from another field. I tried putting those
two buttons in a form that has target="_blank", but it still came up in the

I've a form that opens a tool window. The problem is that when the tool
window is opened, the main form itself passes focus to the toolwindow.
What I want and need is a toolwindow that works like a control with
tabstop=false, i.e. it doesn't get focus when the window is opened, but
focus is retained at the main form. And when you click a button on the
toolwindow, it processes the click event and returns focus to the main form.
