Sriman,

Well, what's the issue specifically? The topic would probably garner
more attention with some more specific details.

I tried integrating the SDKSampleApp into a Windows Service (called by Remoting from a WinForms GUI) but keep receiving the following error message: System.InvalidCastException: QueryInterface for interface Microsoft.Windows.DesktopSearch.Query.ISearchDesktop failed. Web searches yield plenty of discussion re ASP.NET / AspCompat = true / <identity impersonate="true"/> but nothing obviously relevant to Windows Service integration.

Hi, I have developped a Windows applcation (in C#) that allows, among other things, users to view and control the desktop of a remote Windows XP Pro machine. I have actually simply embedded the Remote Desktop ActiveX control in my C# app and this works fine. However i have now a new requirement for my app: multiple users have to be able to view and control the same remote desktop simultaneously using my application. Big problem:...

For writing a Windows desktop application, how much harder is it to use the Windows C API than C#/.NET, assuming the coding is done in an editor? What specific aspects were more difficult? To comply with corporate policy banning the storage of social security numbers on computers, I have been asked if I can search for files & emails that contain social security numbers. I thought that since every computer in our environment has Windows Desktop Search installed I could use that. When looking for the API, every link takes me to the main Windows Live page (link must be dead). Anyone have a good link to the API (2.x)? ...

I've tried installing and reinstalling WDS 3.01 and 4 beta and in each case my query finds nothing. I've searched through other solutions and nothing seems to work. I have SP2 and it won't allow me to reinstall the MDAC (says I have most recent version). Also, the "*"+query that seems to work for some doesn't work for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
