Hi
I am having this InvalidOperationException with message Cannot call Invoke
or InvokeAsync on a control until the window handle has been created
This is raised when i try to invoke a method with arguments
I need to do this as the method is being called Asynchronously from
elsewhere using delegate's BeginInvoke method.
The form is well created/initialized yet the messages states otherwise.

Hi,
I am calling a web service from a hand held terminal (running Pocket pc
2002) using the SoapHttpClientProtocol class. Sometimes the terminal
gets out of network coverage - in that case I want the terminal to be
able to work offline using a cradle. The problem is that when I call
the web service (Invoke(), see code below) and during the call loses
the connection, the terminal can hang for a very long time in the call
(10 minutes or...

Hi people,
I need to dynamically locate and call web services. So, I'm trying
to write my own more generic proxy by extending SoapHttpClientProtocol.
However, I'm getting errors moaning about the BindingAttribute. But, by
including
like MS demands there is still a
compiled reference to a specified service.
Without resorting to writing my own SOAP client from scratch is
there anything I can do?

I have a working client-side Vb.Net (.net v1.0) app that talks to a Webspere
webservice on a windows 2000 server. The client side app runs on a citrix
server, also a Windows 2000 server. The app worked ok till I installed .Net
v1.1 on the citrix, now I get an error when I get the app to use .NET v1.1.
If the app uses .NET v1.0 (with .NET v1.1 stalled), then its ok, however I
must use v1.1 for other reasons.
Has somebody come across...

I have written an Windows Service application, in C#, which calls a web
service periodically. This application works fine on a variety of
Operating Systems including XP Pro, XP Home, Windows 2000 Server and
Windows 2003. I have recently installed this application on a computer
running Windows 2000 Server that has multiple network cards. One
network card connects to the local network. The second network card
connects to the firewall and...

I am using a class that derives from SoapHttpClientProtocol. This was
generated from a wsdl file. One of the methods that it generates takes
a string, which is supposed to be encrypted data, within a cdata
section.
How do I make this proxy class wrap the string in a cdata section?
When I did a trace, the soapEnvelope just passed on the encrypted data
without wrapping it in the cdata tags. Are there any attributes I can
apply to my...

We have run into a problem trying to build a client which works with a
web service implemented against the WSDL at . We have successfully
created clients using other tools than the DotNet framework, and in fact
we were able to create a client using an earlier version of the
framework (1.1.4322.2032) without any problems. With the current
version of the framework (2.0.50727.42) it appears that the Invoke
method of the...

I use VS auto generated code to invoke a internal network webservice.
The auto-generated code use class SoapHttpClientProtocol to do Soap-on-
http communication. It turns out that for single
SoapHttpClientProtocol instances, TCP connection is always maintained
for reuse. This is understandable. Now, I have one load balancer
between client and backend webservice cluster, so, single TCP
connection for single invocation is prefer-ed.
How...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
