Is it possible to create a inheritance heirarchy for the web service proxy
class that inherits the SoapHttpClientProtocol??
I am trying to create a superclass that inherits from SoapHttpClientProtocol
called Project, and create several subclasses of it. Then I try to use
factory patterns and polymorphism to send the Request and Response messages -
( I have a heirarchy for them too)..
Somehow it does not work. It keeps blowing up on my...

Hi, I have a web service called GetComputerNameAndDescription which I can
call from the main thread of my app. If I call it from a separate thread,
however, it hangs on the call to Invoke() -- but only if I'm in the
debugger. Here's a stack trace with non-user code shown -- the call to
RegisterNotifySource, at the top of the stack, never returns -- I have to do
a "break all" inside the debugger, then find this thread and examine its
call...

Hi,
I am calling a web service from a hand held terminal (running Pocket pc
2002) using the SoapHttpClientProtocol class. Sometimes the terminal
gets out of network coverage - in that case I want the terminal to be
able to work offline using a cradle. The problem is that when I call
the web service (Invoke(), see code below) and during the call loses
the connection, the terminal can hang for a very long time in the call
(10 minutes or...

I have written an Windows Service application, in C#, which calls a web
service periodically. This application works fine on a variety of
Operating Systems including XP Pro, XP Home, Windows 2000 Server and
Windows 2003. I have recently installed this application on a computer
running Windows 2000 Server that has multiple network cards. One
network card connects to the local network. The second network card
connects to the firewall and...

We have run into a problem trying to build a client which works with a
web service implemented against the WSDL at . We have successfully
created clients using other tools than the DotNet framework, and in fact
we were able to create a client using an earlier version of the
framework (1.1.4322.2032) without any problems. With the current
version of the framework (2.0.50727.42) it appears that the Invoke
method of the...

I am looking to make something like a delegate that i can use in my
projects but am having a hard time getting started.
The behavior I am most interested in is how a delegate changes it's
Invoke method dynamically to match the arguments supplied to it when it
is defined. For example...
public delegate void MyDelegate(string myString, int myInt);

I have one webservice written in MC++, which uses another native DLL
deployed in %webservice_install_dir%\bin folder. The API invocation
between MC++ and native C++ looks seamless. The compilation is fine.
However, after deployment, each request fails with "The specified
module cound not found" exception.
It turns out to be the Managed assembly is copied to someplace at
runtime. In my machine, it is "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework...

For web service client, we use SoapHttpClientProtocol. There is
BeginInvoke/EndInvoke methods defined in this class, and a method
InvokeAsync. The argument list is same as BeginInvoke, but the return
value type is void, not IAsyncResult. So, how can I get result of the
webmethod? If not, does it mean this method is only useful for
webmethod without output?
SoapHttpClientProtocol.InvokeAsync (String, Object,
SendOrPostCallback) Invokes...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
