Items in toolstrip and menustrip disappear?

After I've added the menustrip and the toolstrip to my MDI windows Form (and
I've added their respective items), I notice that the items disappear.
They're still in the code, but the association between the bar and the items
(i.e. toolStrip.Items .AddRange) disappears. How come? This is happening
frequently. After I fix it, it erases it again.

I'm currently adding these menu controls to an mdi application built in
VS2002 and successfully converted to VS2005 (via the VS2005 Wizard).

Thanks.

Hi Doc,

To make things clear, I'd like to ask several questions here.

1. You have mentioned the application was built in VS2002 and then
converted to VS2005. In VS2002, there's only MainMenu and ToolBar and after
convertion, they are still a MainMenu and a ToolBar and couldn't become a
MenuStrip or a ToolStrip.

Is it the MainMenu and ToolBar that has the problem you described?

2. How you add items to the MainMenu and ToolBar, at design time or run
time?

I guess you add items at design time. It may be the Form Designer that
modify the code in the InitializeCompo nent method so that the association
between the bar and the items disappears. If so, I suggest that you add
items to the bar or main menu at run time, i.e. by your own code.

3. >They're still in the code, but the association between the bar and the
items (i.e. toolStrip.Items .AddRange) disappears.

What do you mean by "They're still in the code" in the above sentence?
Sincerely,
Linda Liu

I was able to set tooltips on objects other than main menu. I would like to get the effect of tooltip or microhelp in the bottom status bar when the mouse is hovering over a submenu item. How do I do that? For example in outlook express, when one expand a main menu item and holds mouse over one of the enable sub menu item, one would see some sort microhelp text in the status bar in the bottom

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
