I have a popup window (required by the client) containing a form and would
like to prevent users from accessing it directly. They are instead required
to access the page via a hyperlink on another page. HTTP_REFERER, while not
completely reliable, would serve the purpose except for another problem. The
hyperlink points to a JavaScript function which opens the popup. This yields
HTTP_REFERER worthless. My other thought was to create a...

PROBLEMS I Haven't solved:
1. Timing issue between real-time server #1 and my drawing tools.
Will moving the tools
(currently within module) to an ActiveX (exe or DLL) solve the
problem or will the calls to
the ActiveX in the mouse move event still result in a conflict????

Hi all, I could use some help programming on of my Perl script to handle
different submit buttons within the same form. Here is what I have so far.
A user goes to a Web form and inputs some data into a textarea box. Below
this box there are two buttons ... one that is labelled "Save & Exit" and
other that is labelled "Save and Preview" On submit of either button, the
form data is sent to the same perl script. What I need to have happen is...

Hi all.
I have a form, and several text and image links on it that should
submit the form with different actions.
I prepared a simple page with just the code that's not working.
PROBLEM: The form won't submit if the link is clicked, but will submit
if the SUBMIT button is clicked. I need to call a function to change
the form's action according to user's input before it is submitted.

Hello,
I built a very basic form (System.Windows.Forms.Form) in a project that I
compiled as a class library. Everything worked fine.
I then created another project and I want to display that form in it.
Problem is that when I create an instance of the form and then try to set it
as being visible, the form is blank. There is no controls on it, nothing.
It looks like the creation process is not done. It looks frozen. I think I...

Complete code follows.
I am new to .NET programming (and programming in general) and I am having a
difficult time understanding how to fill a variable in one sub, and then
access it from another. I have tried declaring them as shared, public,
friend, etc and I always get an error stating that something is not valid
on a local variable declaration.
For example, in the following code for Sub DataGrid_Select, I have
CurrentID and...

Hi Guys,
Just wanting some opinions on best method to approach this. I am
working on an Access97 db and we have two forms and an ADO connection
object to contend with.
The desired state is this-
first form has the functionality for the user to choose an MDB file to
connect to, the user does as such, and the ado connection object is
set up and the connection is opened.

I have a form that I programmatically generate some check boxes and labels on.
Later on when I want to draw the form with different data I want to clear
the previously created items and then put some new ones on.
In my code I am doing the following:
For Each ctrl In tpMain.Controls
If TypeOf (ctrl) Is CheckBox Then
If ctrl.Name.StartsWith("chkS") Then
ctrl.Visible = False

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
