Instantiating C# objects using ActiveXObject() ?

Hi:

I have a DLL compiled from C# that I have to be able to use within an
HTML document. This is relatively easy to do following the suggestions
on this page:

http://www.codeproject.com/cs/miscct...wincontrol.asp

However, hardcoding the object in the HTML document itself isn't
flexible enough for my purposes. What I would really like to be able
to do is use JavaScript to create instances of the C# classes. It
looks like JScript has an ActiveXObject constructor that can be used to
instantiate ActiveX controls, but I haven't been able to get
ActiveXObject() to crate an instance of a C# class. I suppose any
class that you instantiate using ActiveXObject() has to be an ActiveX
control. Is there a way to write a C# class such that it can be
instantiated using ActiveXObject() ? Or is there some other mechanism
that can essentially bind C# classes into JavaScript?

Regards,

Nick

I have a drop-down list now and I got it so when something is selected from the drop down list it calls a JavaScript function. I want it so the value selected from the drop-down list is sent as a parameter to the xslt file. When I select a value from the drop-down list nothing appears. I want just a basic listing of Title, Image, and Description outputed. I have done a basic JavaScript that uses the .write() function and that worked so the...

I'm trying to make use of XMLHTTP object, but I've come across a problem. It seems that there is no way to create dynamic array of such XMLHTTP objects (to make several requests) and handle them properly. I was trying to use such code: <script lang="javascript"> function handleOnReadyStateChange() { if (this.readyState==4) {

Because of an example I followed I've been instantiating Image objects. Now I notice that the documentation says the Image class is an abstract base class. Things seem to be working! Is the documentation wrong (it also says abstract classes cannot be instantiated)? Should I be using Bitmap instead? Is there a difference between Abstract class and Abstract base class?

What are the ramifications if I were to instantiate an object tens of thousands of times and add them to an array? Or hundreds of thousands of times? Do you know if the act of instantiating a class takes a lot of storage or other resources? Would it be a severe performance penalty? From the .Net help doc:

hi, I have seen the winvnc(tightvnc server) source code in this I seen that class member funtions are calling without instantiating the object i.e. like vncService::ShowDefaultProperties() where vncService is a class name not an refrence or instantiated object. is the above notation is possible or not?if yes how should i declare that class(vncService) so that i can call without instantiating the object. If any of u know pls answer to...

Hello! Whilst refactoring an application, I was looking at optimizing a ModelFactory with generics. Unfortunately, the business objects created by the ModelFactory doesn't provide public constructors (because we do not allow developers to instantiate them directly). Because our business objects are instantiated very frequently, the idea of using reflection sounds like a performance killer (I haven't done any tests on this, but the...

Hi. I am somewhat new to this and would like some advice. I want to search my xml file using "keyword" search and return results based on "proximity matching" - in other words, since the search string will often not produce a direct match, the results will be based on proximity (50%, 20% 100%, etc). are there any good examples out there on how to do keyword searches on XML data? How should i set up my xml file so

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
