I have a particular application that requires reordering objects by
drag and drop, and I would like to do this with a web frontend.
To be more precise: There are headlines and paragraphs stored in a
database, but forcing the editors to put them into a certain sequence
by entering a sequence number for every item (or clicking on an "up"
button fifty times) would be much too cumbersome. So I want to give
them an outline view of the text...

I look at the asp.net 2.0 web parts tutorial on the asp.net web site. I
tried to run it under firefox browser but it did not run.

on firefox/mozilla, what would be a good approach.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial on reordering items within a single
listbox using the mouse, ie drag and drop, specifically with vb.net.
Google shows me various half-references eg to related controls, vb6 or
whatever, but nothing that seems to relate specifically to vb.bet and
reordering within a single listbox control.

I have successfully implemented drag and drop in my application to
allow the reordering of columns by dragging and dropping them in the
same datagridvire (Net 2.0).
If i take it relatively slowly this works perfectly. However, if I
perform consecutive drag and drops quickly, the code seems to trip over
itself and throws the exception or other similar ones as per below.
The main problem is that no matter where I try to catch this...

I am using the awesome drag and drop script found at http://script.aculo.us/. I have also added a modification that interacts to a db for reordering upon release of a dragable item. Within each dragable is a input checkbox. This checkbox holds a DB id value that is sent on submit. This process works fine in IE, but in FF the checkbox values dont get sent via GET, or POST.
